Heavy contact in the CSCC swinging sixties group 2 race resulted in 3 very damaged cars. The no.14 Scimitar SE5 GTE runs wide, rejoins and collects the innocent no.42 Lotus elan of Philip Rothwell and the no.99 lotus seven of John Muirhead. Carnage ensues as the rear 3rd of the Elan gets taken off. Very lucky it didnt end a lot worse as the fuel tank was in the rear third that got destroyed! Also apologies for the fencing getting in the way a bit,I was sitting down at the time!

★ロータス エラン S4 スプリント dhcに関して 1962年に登場した2シーターのスポーツ ロータス エランはシリーズ1~4、4をベースとしたスプリント、エ ラン+2の6つのシリーズがあった。 Y字形の鋼板製バックボーンフレームを採用し、リトラ タブルライトを持つオープンボディはコーリン・チャ プマン特許の加圧FRP製。S4が登場した1968年にはタイヤ イズの扁平ラジアル化に伴い、後ろのオープニングが17 5/70-13の装着が可能なように変更され、テールランプが 角型となった。 更に1971年に登場したスプリントは大径バルブ、特製カ シャフト、10.3:1の高圧縮比などによってチューニング された水冷4気筒 DOHCエンジンは通称"ビッグバルブ"ユニットと呼ばれ、155 8ccの排気量から最高出力(126PS/6500rpm) 、最大トルク (15.6kgm/5500rpm)を発揮し、最高速度はポルシェ911に対抗す く200km/hに達した。 駆動方式はFR、4速MTでサスペンションはフロントはダブ ウィッシュボーン、リアはストラットウィッシュボー 、ブレーキはF・Rともサーボ付きのディスクであった エランシリーズは延べ約12000台が生産され、内900台近く スプリントとの事であったが、1973年に生産中止となっ た。
