Kevin's 1977 Chevy Silverado Big Block 454 w/ TH400 trans
This is the truck I've been working on for about three years. The frame and
axles are from a 1985 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 350 engine and a TH400
transmission. My grandpa purchased a 1977 Chevy Silverado Camper Special
brand new back in 1977. That truck had a 454 big block engine and a TH400
transmission in it. My goal is to make the '85 GMC look like a 4x4 version
of my grandpa's truck -- with a plethora other modifications/
customizations. I have pictures of the project posted on webshots:
I recently posted this same video on a different website that doesn't
destroy the quality of the file. Check it out here:
This video was taken 8/20/08, two days before I left for Clarkson
Chevy Big Block Engine Starting
We just finished our new Chevy Big-Block engine, wich will soon find a home
in our 1980 Camaro. It
is just one of many BBC's that I have built. It is a "street friendly" 10:1
all forged, mechanical roller with too many goodies to list . It sounds
crazy and I can't wait to feel the tire shreading performance.
Engine rebuild part 1
This series is available on DVD Here is the link
We are rebuilding a GM 350 5.7 engine. Now in this particular case we
are also going to upgrade the engine to a 383 6.0 This is called
building a "stroker" motor. In other words we are increasing the "stroke"
of the engine which increased the torq & horsepower.
If you are able & wanting to rebuild an engine, this video should give you
a good overview of what to do. If you are having someone else build an
engine for you, you will be able to see what's involved in the process

454 Chevy Big Block Teardown and Rebuild.
This is my bud Marc's BB 454 that had been sitting for a LONG time. It's
had the heads off, and moisture got to the bottom end. We tore it down,
cleaned everything up and bored the block. New rings, and a few other
things to be installed, as well as a clean up of the cam shaft lobes and
lifters. Should be ready to fire in a couple weeks. I'll post a vid of it
running when it's done!
