74 Chevy Nova Update 0 - First Startup

Car was left for dead but in great shape. Was for sale not running AS IS. Fiddled with it a bit and this is the outcome. Body has low mileage! (I took off body panels for easy access to everything.) Engine is a V8 7.4L 454 Big Block. Link to the Reborn Startup at the end.

Heres an update on the various things I did to the Nova.

Here I show the engine with a short tour and then the startup. 454 V8 with open headers. And a link to the very first startup so the difference between how it was and how it is now can be seen.

74 Chevy Nova Update 3 - Bare metal
I took it down to bare metal. Took 2 weeks to get it bare. Used Metal to metal Body filler to do the body work. Ready for Epoxy primer.

74 Chevy Nova Update 22 - Body Panels and Power Brakes Installed
Installed all the panels I jamb painted and converted my manual 4 wheel drum brakes to Power 4 wheel disk brakes. Towards the end I show the gaps of the panels. The brake conversion kit used was Right Stuff Detailing. Rate and subscribe. Thank you.

74 Chevy Nova Update 45 - Cowl Hood Mock Up and Some Blending
Finally got the hinges for the cowl hood and I mock up fitment. I also had to paint blend the fender from alignment modifications I had to perform.

Here I show what I have done to the Big block 454 v8 engine that was in the 74 Nova. Though I have been working on the body, behind the scenes I have been also working on this engine. Now I reveal what I have done to it. Internally I replaced the oil pump as the engine was rebuilt by previous owner.

74 Chevy Nova Update 8 - RePrime & Block #3 plus Final Prime
I reprimed and blocked the car for the 3rd time. Than Sprayed the car (the 4th time painting the car) with the Final prime. Not over yet!

Finally some COLOR! I show the jamb painting from masking to complete. Velocity Red Mica is the color and its Urethane Base with Clear Coat. Red Oxide Sealer was used as well to help with overage.
