Troy Lee Designed Livery For Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 RSR - 24 Heures Du Mans 2011
ICONOGRAPHY STUDIOS WRAPS THE FLYING LIZARD SPECIAL LIVERY FOR THE TEAM'S FIRST TWO-PORSCHE LE MANS RACE IN FRANCE ON JUNE 11, 2011 Iconography teams up in joint project with artist Troy Lee to produce the Flying Lizard commemorative livery for the No. 80 and No. 81 Flying Lizard Porsches for the 2011 24 Heures du Mans. Los Alamitos, CA (June 7, 2011) -- Created by California-based artist Troy Lee and wrapped by Iconography Studios, the livery celebrates the history of Porsche at LeMans, featuring the 28 drivers who have won the 24 Heures du Mans overall in a Porsche. The No. 80 and No. 81 designs are identical, implemented in complementary colors: candy metallic orange for the No. 80 and candy metallic blue for the No. 81; both anchored by a deep ocean blue. Primary colors provide a backdrop for the driver names and flags which weave throughout the design on the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Troy Lee's concepts were derived from each of the driver's country flags, using vibrant colors to bring the designs to life in 3D. Showing off the depth and movement of the amazing cars, while maintaining the integrity of the Porsche design, was their biggest challenge. "We worked hand and hand with Troy and his team," said James Naccarato, Owner of Iconography Studios. "They created the concept and design with Flying Lizard and we brought it to life on the Porsches with the help of our top of the line Roland printer machines." "A crucial part of this project was getting the right paint: We worked extensively with PPG Industries to develop these custom colors, both for their liveliness and for the depth of the metallic colors. Using the candy paint as a base, we then created the intricate backdrop of asymmetric shapes to balance the design and create the sense of speed," said Lee. Flying Lizard initiated the project with Troy Lee in late 2010. "We worked with Troy's team for several months to finalize the concept and design. The livery is a combination of candy paint overlaid with vinyl. The vinyl was custom-tailored to each Porsche and applied at our shop in Sonoma by Iconography Studios," described Flying Lizard VP of Marketing Jennifer Hart. How to Build a 3.8L Porsche Track Monster
This is the full-length film about my Porsche 964 3.6L to 3.8L RS engine conversion. It was filmed over 3 months and I couldn't be happier with the final result. My car was built for ME...my specs, my goals, and my vision. Speedsporttuning listened to everything I dreamt about as a kid and build the car around my personality... and for that I will be forever grateful. I hope you all enjoy the video as much as I did making it. -L

2015 Porsche 918 Spyder First Test: Fastest 0-60 Time Ever? Plus Porsche 959! - Ignition Ep. 109
On this week's Ignition, Carlos Lago has a second go at Porsche's 918 hypercar. The goal: to run the 918 through the full gauntlet of MT's instrumented testing, including 0-60, quarter mile, braking, figure 8, and a blistering real-time hot lap around Big Willow race track with pro driver Randy Pobst. Carlos also gets a rare chance to experience the 918's ancestor, the Porsche 959. The 959 was a remarkable piece of automobile history that was decades ahead of its time with much of it's technology only appearing in common vehicles within the last ten years or so. The 918 attempts something very similar, featuring very advanced technology, including a naturally aspirated V8 that works with a seamlessly integrated electric motor to provide extra Boost. Can Porsche's new hypercar achieve the same effect that its predecessor did? Only time will tell, but stay tuned for the record-breaking review. 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S: The Most Capable Grand Tourer? Ignition Ep. 104
On this episode of Ignition, Jonny Lieberman has a go with perhaps the most capable grand touring car on the market, the new Porsche 911 turbo S. Combining 560 horsepower, upwards of 553 lb-ft of torque and several cows' worth of leather. Embarking on a cross continental trip in the dead of winter, Jonny begins in frosty Georgia and heads all the way back to Motor Trend's headquarters in Southern California. Along the way he traverses ten States, meets up with friends like Randy Pobst and John Hennessey, examines why Americans are so found of road trips and just generally enjoys the hell out of one of the quickest production cars on earth, the mighty 911 turbo S. New Porsche 991 GT3. First Drive. - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS
If we were a car magazine we'd call this a WORLD EXCLUSIVE, but we're not, so we won't. Let's just say we got very early access to the car everyone wants to know about. And it was very, very good. Volume to 11 please.

The Porsche 918 Spyder Tested - CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS
The plug-in hybrid, mid-engine hypercar: The Porsche 918 Spyder. Tested by /DRIVE's Chris Harris at the Valencia circuit in the winter of 2013. The Porsche 918 Spyder has come a long way since when we first saw it at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. Competing against the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, it is the cheapest of the trio of new hypercars at a base price of $845,000. The engine weights 140 kg according to Porsche and it delivers 608 horsepower (453 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 528 N·m (389 lbf·ft) of maximum torque. This is supplemented by two electric motors delivering an additional 279 hp (208 kW) - One 154 hp electric motor drives the rear wheels in parallel with the engine and also serves as the main generator.
