I wasn't involved in the creation of this video whatsoever. However I found it very useful when I had to remove my bumper to change a blown headlight-bulb, so have decided to give it wider viewing accessibility on YouTube. I realise there is at least one other how-to about MK4 bumper removal on YouTube but this is just an extra source of useful information. Thanks to the original source / maker for this video how-to. Good work.

vw golf front bumper removal guide mk4
how to remove your mkiv golf front bumper. My car already has the plastic wheel arch liners removed, so you will also need to undo those two or three screws on the edge too. They are torx - not regular philips or crosshead screws (so you need torx bits. I think 20 or 25 size).

Opening rear door on MKIV VW Golf : handle broken, child lock engaged
This is NOT a way to break into a VW! This video goes along with a VW Vortex thread here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4209343 . Apparently failure of the outside door handle is pretty common, the symptom being that you cannot open the door from the outside even when it is unlocked. You can usually open it from the inside... unless you have managed to engage the child safety lock... in which case you've got a door that will not open from either the inside or the outside. What to do?!? Your VW dealer may quote you some ridiculous price to get you out of this fix, or people may tell you to do something silly like cut a hole in your door panel or break off the handle. No need! Just insert a pick or some similar implement into the handle as shown in the video, probe around until you feel something that feels like it might be part of the latch, then give a little twist/pull. I was inspired to try this after finding the following post: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_fix_a_rear_passenger_door_handle_on_a_MK4_VW_Golf_with_child_lock_enabled_so_the_door_cannot_be_opened_from_the_inside_The_handle_pulls_and_clicks_but_nothing_happens .
