This is the first of hopefully a number of videos documenting the conversion of my poor rusty old 1975 Datsun 1200 Ute from the original 1.2L whipper snipper engine it left the factory with to a 1996 SR20DET engine out of a Jap import S14 Silvia.

MY MOM'S REACTION to Sentra SE-R w/ SR20VE swap

w/ SR20VE motor swap; all bolt-ons and some internal work. While it's only
putting down around 250 crank HP, it only weighs 1,990lbs, confirmed on
scale and had a nearly empty fuel tank. Removed all seats except fronts, no
power steering, no A/C, no rear spoiler, no wiper motor or washer fluid
box, no sound deadening tar or carpeting, no spare, jack, lightweight Rota
wheels, light flywheel/pulleys, everything that could be removed without
compromising safety was taken out (except the headliner), front two seats,
seatbelts, dash and rear speaker deck, that's it. So it weighs as much as a

Ram And Sons Datsun 1200 UTE 9.88 NEW PERSONAL RECORD !!! Well today was
day for my favourite Engine the SR20 , We had two amazing 9 second records
today from two amazing vehicles. The Ram and Sons Fish Van after doing
10.02 yesterday came with a positive confident mind in search of touch the
9's. Skipping 9.9 they went straight into an amazing 9.88 sending the crowd
crazy and being the 2nd Fastest SR20 in Trinidad but the 1st SR20 to do a 9
second Pass in Trinidad lands. Later in the evening Ramdath's Silvia SR20
vehicle did an 8.85 taking away the cake from R&S who did 9.91 but still
both crews happy on their achievements today. Congrats to Team Ram and Sons
on their amazing Achievement represent the SR20 Camp!!!

so after my last video the car ran good for about 2 weeks. long story
short, the tune that my last shop did set my motor up for detonation so
cylinder #1 dropped a significant amount of compression. the other 3 did as
well but not to such a degree.
it took me around 7-8 months to gather enough money to go with forged
internals rather than OEM.
i was on the verge of purchasing all the parts when i came across what i
thought was too good to be true.
someone in north carolina had a nice 1996 nissan 240se shell and fully
built block for sale. he was asking right around what it would of cost me
to rebuild my motor and considering i was getting a entire car and many
aftermarket parts with it, it was a no-brainer for me... I WAS SOLD!

I made a silly mistake. The TDC mark is the second from the left, not the
right. Other then that, all good.
