318 Poly First Start / Cam Break In.
1972 Dodge Charger Rallye couple of pics before and after paint leading up
to video of First start of my 318 poly stroker. It is open Exhaust and one of the float bowls was sticking
so it was missing a little. Good time anyway.

1973 Charger 318 390 Stroker on the dyno for a quick run
318 to 390 cubic Inch Stroker Specs:
ICON Forged Flattop pistons
Forged H beam Rods

The engine is running high 10's low 11's compression ratio and therfore
decided to run a blend of race fuel with an octane rating near 100. After
the Dyno run I
realized that the cam is doing nothing to help the engine make power and it
was evident in the numbers. Don't get me wrong it sounds great but its not
much in the power department, but thats the cams design I guess. The car
made 301 RWHP and 331 FT LBS of Torque.
We changed the carb to a 650 double pumper and were expecting better
results since the 850 is quite large for the engine but to no avail. The
carb change only produced 2 more rwhp and 1 more ft lbs of torque. Not
worth the expense of changing it especially for what ill be using it for.
I will be changing the manifold to a single plane and the cam will be
changed for something more aggresive like comp cams XR292HR-10. Hopefully
this will get a little more power out of the sucker.
