I wanted to share this video with all you who wants to retrofit a stearing wheel with cruise control. Follow the steps and you should be able to DIY.
This Video does not not cover M47 and engines before 2001/9. The plug in the DDE is a 40 pin on those models.
You need a lot of tools for this job, but most are common to a DIY man/woman :)

This BMW 325i headlights restoration took a doing. These headlights had passed the yellow stage gone through the hazy cloudy stage of oxidation. They were among the worst headlights that we have ever restore. Never the less we were able to give these headlights a new look after our headlight restoration service. BMW E46 330i Secret OBC Function - Digital RPM
Just a video to show how easy it is to access the secret OBC on a BMW E46 and to show the digital RPM readout along with my vehicle's redline in 1st gear.
Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:
1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position or hold when car is on
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following functions below:
