What its like owning a 3 Rotor 20B RX-7
I have one of the most amazing custom RX-7s in the world. I want to share
my experience of owning and driving such a unique car.
I explain where the engine came from, why its so special, and what it does
to a Mazda RX-7

2004 RX8 6 Speed Manual Quick Test Drive
Just a quick drive in my 2004 RX8 6 speed with K & N intake and Greddy Exhaust. The car was warmed up prior to
driving. I never drive the car cold. As you can see the car starts, idles,
accelerates, shifts, brakes, turns, and handles exactly as it should. The
car drives perfect. The whine you hear is the sweet natural sound of the
RX8's rotary engine. The Exhaust gets
much louder and mean sounding but I couldn't open her up on a main road
because I was recording while driving...
I do not recommend driving while recording a video...especially with a
manual. For professionals only.
RX8 exhaust with no muffler or resonator
First was muffler removal. Then went ahead and removed the resonator that
is right behind the catalytic converter. Note how the idle always settles
back down into a distinguished noise, now that there is no resonator
smearing the pulses. Keeping cat for emissions, and backpressure to open
the last 2 of 6 ports.
I'm waiting to post some higher rpm sounds, once engine #3 is broken in.
This video is engine #2, I parked it for 2 years and only had a couple
fillups. Unfortunately I'm on engine #3 now, never fully broke in engine #2
for higher rpm sound capture.
Cold Start 2004 Mazda RX-8 with Short Tour, and Test Drive
A friend of mine let me make a cold start video of his 2004 Mazda RX-8. I
give a few stats in the video, but to go in a little more depth. It's a
1.3L Renesis dual rotor engine "rotary" very tiny engine putting out 238 horsepower and 159 lb
ft torque. I also give a short tour, show the engine and details, and we
take it for a drive. I get some cool shots inside, and some drive bys.
Also an Exhaust/revving clip at the
end. I know I had a lot of requests to do one of these cars. An full, in
depth review/tour will come later on. Enjoy!
Rotary Engine Breakthrough?
The Wankel engine always held out a lot of promise, but never was able to
fully deliver on those promises. It was never very fuel efficient, and the
Exhaust temperatures were very high.
But now an independent car tech thinks he has stumbled onto what held that

Meet the first model year of Mazda's rotary powered sports car, with a
feathery curb weight, perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and RWD it was
everything that a sports car should be. Unfortunately, it also had some of
the compromises and quirks of your typical sports car.
Mazda RX-8 Video Review
This is a Top Gear-style review of a Mazda RX-8
I'm a passionate person, I'm passionate about cars, and after a long
history of either excruciatingly boring or terrible cars, last year I
bought a car I'm genuinely passionate about: my 2005 Mazda RX-8. Having
lusted after it since its arrival in 2004, this truly was a dream car that
I can finally call my own.
Inspired by my obsession with Top Gear (the original UK version), my
excitement for my car prompted me to make a video review of it.
Many great thanks to Andrew James and Lorie Rogerson for helping me produce
the film, and to Fred Sherman Lee for lending us the truck that would serve
as a leading car for all the footage!!!!

Google+ SUCKS. I'm sorry but I can no longer see or respond to comments as
I have blocked Google+. I will not be forced into Google's FAILED and
flatulent social network.
All future videos will be posted on Vimeo.com instead.
Second session on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Finally let me pass after 1-3/4
laps. Both the BMW driver and I are advanced, high-performance driving
The RX-8 is completely stock except for a B&B muffler and Hawk HP Plus pads
on the front. It does not have traction control or stability control.
Tires are original stock street Potenzas. No doubt the M5 is stock too,
and this has more to do with weight than horsepower.
Camera is a Creative Labs Vado cheapcorder stuck to the windshield with a
suction cup cellphone holder. Video was recorded upside-down due to the
mount, and was transcoded to rotate it. Quality suffered.
