GoPro HD Hero: Top Dragster view of the Supercharger! 6.70 @ 206 mph!
Here is another qualifying pass from No Problem Raceway 6.70 @ 206 mph! Keep in mind, the air conditions were not favorable on this day. What you're looking at is a 509 c.i. half-filled aluminum block with Brodix Big Duke heads, and a Kobelco 10-71 Hi-Helix strapped on top. This combo is making roughly 20 lbs of Boost, and approximately 1500 hp.
Banks Top Diesel Dragster: NHRDA Nationals
On March 6th, 2010 the Banks crew tested out the rail's new "Stroker" 427
cu. in., twin-turbo 7.0L Duramax engine
at the NHRDA Nationals in Wittmann, Arizona. The numbers for this trip out
were 7.670 @173.54. We were a little faster back in April 2009 when we ran 7.17 @
181.08. We've also run a best trap speed of 190MPH with the car on a
separate test session. All those runs were with our twin-turbo'd Duramax, and now we're getting set to hit
the track with a supercharged configuration. Stay tuned for that! More info
Martin Stamatis 4.577 329.10 mph (529.63 kmh) drag race
Western Australian Martin Stamatis became the fastest Australian drag racer
at the recent Sydney Summernationals on Saturday February 16 when he
blasted his Fastlane Software Jim Read Racing top fuel dragster to a top
speed of 329.10 mph (529.63 kmh) down the WSID quarter mile.
The fastest speed recorded by an Australian on Aussie soil was previously
held by his team mate, Phil Read who ran 329.02 mph (529.51 kmh) at the
2006 Boxing Day International Top Fuel Challenge.
Although the margin may be minimal to some, for Stamatis the speed was a
great personal achievement for him and his hard working team, and the 4.577
second ET from the run is also now only just behind Phil Read's personal
best of time 4.571 seconds, leaving the entire Read team really pumped.
Stamatis and his team then went on to win the meeting, and are now looking
forward to the next top fuel round due to be held in Sydney on May 2 and 3.
On-board footage of dragster crash
Blown head gasket dumps water in front of the tires causing dragster to
veer into the wall and flip, landing upside down. Thanks to the excellent
track emergency team and the strongly-built car, the driver sustained no
injuries. The car is capable of 200+ MPH and sub-7 second 1/4 mile passes.
It is powered by a turbo-charged 2.2
liter 4-cylinder GM EcoTech engine producing nearly 1600 HP.
