125 Years of Innovations
On January 29, 1886 Carl Benz filed a patent application („Reichspatent" number 37435) for his motor car. The first motor vehicle to be designed as such from the outset was born and the history of the automobile began to take its course. This is a story that could hardly be more impressive or inspiring and in 2011 we celebrate the 125th anniversary of this invention. It is a success story which would have been unimaginable without the achievements of a number of remarkable figures: Carl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, all of them regarded as the pioneers of automobile engineering. Among them was the man who, toghether with his son Karl Maybach, laid the foundations of todayʻs Maybach brand.
