The new Rover V8 in my MGB - Starting for the first time
So, after a year or so I have finaly inserted a new V8 in my MGB. This video show the very first (and successful) attempt at starting the new engine. After 7 years on the road, the original engine's block cracked 1 month before I retired and moved to Lyme Regis in July 2007. I've never performed anything major like this before, so this was a big and anxious moment.

Renault 5 v8 Supercar
1983 Renault 5 T1 with Rover 3500cc V8 engine. Rescued from a dealer in the west country. Road legal and rebuilt to Rac regulations for tarmac hill climbing. Pranged car on first outing so rebuilt front end and then kept strictly for road use. Engine tuned to approx 220 bhp, car weighed in at about 900 kilos so it was pretty quick. 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds. Sadly sold car in 2004 and had not seen or heard of it until Jean Luc contacted me in 2011.The car is now in France! Turn up the volume!!!!

Mini V8 roadster at knebworth.mov
NOW FOR SALE. My car is a 1975 Austin Mini. This car has been completely restored and is now powered by a 4Lt rover v8 engine and 5 speed transmission. The carburettor is a four barrel Edelbrock 500 as is the inlet manifold. Crower 232 cam and stage 2 cylinder heads. Ignition is provided by Mallory. The cassis is made from 38mm CDS tubing. Fibre glass boot lid and bonnet. The car has a steel flip front to allow easy access to the engine. The differential is a Ford Sierra Cosworth LSD. The suspension is coil over shocks all round. Seats are black glass fibre buckets with 4 point harnesses. The car now has disk brakes all round with 4 pot callipers on the front and Ford Sierra callipers on the back. Due to the engine layout the radiator is in the rear of the vehicle. The wiring loom and all electrics are new. Wheels are alloy and are 15X8 all round. Weight is approximately 600Kg's. This gives me 500BHP per tonne. If you look on Ken Voss's website he has an applet to calculate quarter mile times. Mine comes out at 9.46 @ 144MPH which is a shame cos my tyres are rated at 130 MPH Ha Ha Ha.
