The late, great, Modified eliminator. If you've never witnessed Modified Production and Gas-class cars in action, you really missed drag racing's most exciting era!
Sure, drag cars are making more horsepower and torque than ever, with resulting quicker and faster ET's and MPH, but the sounds of these high rpm, manual shift race cars--sans any electronic rev limiters--is no longer around. Ditto for the mean sounding/cool looking dry hops, as the cars approach the start line (after the burnout) is unfortunately, a thing of the past.

Low-Tech kuvaa Raseborg-opistolta puolentoista vuoden takaa!
Kaikki on kuvattu simppelillä digi-kameralla, joten kuvanlaatu ei ole HD-kuvaa... mutta piisaa kun kuvaa ei suurenna valtavasti.
Videon koostaminen oli hidasta ku prkl, mulla oli siihen aikaan sellanen varmaan kaks tuumaa paksu IBM läppäri vuodelta papu. Hyvinhän se laite muuten toimi, mutta kun MediaMakerilla teki muutaman liikkeen, piti video aina tallentaa koska oli vaara koneen jumiutumisesta... Lopulta se IBM sitten prakas, ja meinasin että toi video olisi "lost forever". Nyt löysin kuitenkin yhden muistitikun jonka syövereistä paljastui tämä loppuun asti editaatioimani filmin ykkös-osa... kakkos-osiokin on olemassa, en vaan tiiä missä. Jos sen jostain löydän, niin latailen sen tänne.
Kaikki musiikki on Flatbroke Trio'n (esiintyi DD:ssä '07) tuotannosta, lähinnä levyltä "Still Searchin' " joka julkaistiin samalla viikonlopulla kun tämä '09 DoDads oli. Käytin musiikkia artistien luvalla.
Tekstit on englanniksi, tekstitys löytyy teksti-tv:n sivulta 666.
Videossa tunnistettavissa oleville ihmisille on ainakin annettu mahdollisuus kieltää mua laittamasta tätä tänne...

Everything was filmed with a simple camera, so picture-quality is not highest possible, but in my opinion; it doesn't bother at all if picture is small enough.
I made this video with Windows MediaMaker, but I had few problems with my computer by that time. Finally, that old IBM laptop refused to work, so I thought that this film would've been lost forever. All that work! Recently, I found this memorystick which had been lost for a longer while... and there was this video! How happy I was! 'Cause I wanted to be polite, I asked from most people who are regonized on this video, would it be OK if I upload it to YouTube, so here it is!
All music was played by Flatbroke Trio, and songs are mostly from record "Still Searchin' " which was released during same weekend as this '09 Do-Dads was held. Check them at www.myspace.com/flatbroketrio

1971 Saloon car championship PT2
This is the "Osram saloon car championship" part of the "Iberia Trophy - 1971". The race took place on 11-09-1971, at the now gone circuit of "Crystal Palace". Cars include Camero, Viva HB GT, Escort RS1600, Mini Cooper's etc.. Big names such as the late "Gerry Marshall"... Enjoy the time warp with "Murray Walker" on commentary (more) (less)
