Follow the Leader is the sales introduction film prepared for dealers to
let them know all of sales advantages to be found in a 1937 Oldsmobile. In
1937, Oldsmobile was a pioneer in introducing a four-speed semi-automatic
transmission called the "Automatic Safety Transmission", although this
accessory was actually built by Buick, which would offer it in its own cars
in 1938. This transmission featured a conventional clutch pedal, which the
driver pressed before selecting either "low" or "high" range. In "low," the
car shifted between first and second gears. In "high," the car shifted
between first, third and fourth gears.

For 1986, the Delta 88 switched platforms from the GM B platform to the
smaller front-wheel drive H platform, with a wheelbase of only 110.8 inches
(2,814 mm). The headlights changed from square sealed beam quads to
integrated regular/high beam composite lamps in 1987. A few NASCAR teams
built racecars with 1986 Delta 88 sheeetmetal and ran them on the circuit
in the 86-88 seasons, however only one victory (Terry LaBonte) was scored.
The Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera is a mid-size car that was sold from 1982
through 1996 by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors.
It shared the front-wheel drive A platform with the very similar Buick
Century, Pontiac 6000 and Chevrolet Celebrity; both Olds and Chevy
considered using the Celebrity name, which had originally used by
Oldsmobile in the 1960s) Available body styles included a 2-door coupe,
4-door sedan, and the Cutlass Ciera Cruiser station wagon. The Cutlass
Ciera shared the Cutlass nameplate with the smaller Cutlass Calais and the
larger Cutlass Supreme. It shared the same engines and certain interior
features with one of its twins: the Buick Century.
During its run, the Cutlass Ciera was Oldsmobile's best-selling
model. The car enjoyed many factory specialty models
including Holiday coupe, GT, pace car,[clarification needed] and
International models, the latter of which had a stock body kit.
For 1988, the Cutlass Ciera received composite headlamps (Some late 1987
models had composite headlamps as well) and introduced the new
International Series models, and was also the final year for the Brougham.
The International Series included the emblem with the flags of various
countries below the nameplate and was available in all three bodystyles,
and came equipped with a standard Buick V6 engine, a 4-speed automatic
transmission, a dual Exhaust system,
front captain's chairs, and standard power windows.

Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser Station Wagon Estate Break 16,000 Orig Miles 1 Owner
Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera S Custom Cruiser Station Wagon 16,000 Original
Miles Estate Break http://www.1ownercarguy.com Here is a very nice 1994
Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Station Wagon that only has 16,000 Original Miles
on it and is a 1 Owner Car. This car is as nice as they come and you
probably won't find one with less miles. Someone bought this car new and
just never drove it. Drove it to the store once a week or something. It has
the 3.1L engine and automatic transmission which is a very reliable and gas
efficient drive train. The car runs great and feels tight as can be while
your driving down the road. The exterior is beautiful. The metallic gold
paint has a nice shine to it and looks great. The body is straight as can
be. This car hasn't been on the road long enough for there to be much wrong
with it. The interior is as close to perfect as you will see. The seats
show hardly any wear and the carpets are the same way. Even has the 3rd row
seat in the back. The car can seat 7-8 people. If you are looking for one
of the nicest, cleanest, low miles station wagon you have ever seen this is
the car for you.

home-made 425 Oldsmobile powered death trap
Don't laugh to hard at this. My buddy's dad build himself a rail job
(death trap) race car, powered by a Oldsmobile 425 big block. Once again I
don't have all the info but it does have an Edelbrock intake and a Holley
carb. The Exhaust is running out open
manifolds. Also has airbag suspension in the back and some fat Mickey T's.
Check out the HUGE steering wheel, it's bigger than the actual wheels.
Gets crazy going down the road. Thankfully he never actually took it to
the track. It became doner parts for other projects. Have fun!!!!
132198 / 1957 Oldsmobile: Golden Rocket 88
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/blcwa26
Don't be fooled by the large-by-huge chrome wheels it's wearing today, this
particular '57 Golden Rocket 88 is an authentic J2 car, and is extensively
and thoroughly restored to original condition from top to bottom. Our
documents suggest that this is one of only four Golden Rocket 88 2-door
sedans in existence with the J2 engine.
The two-tone bodywork on this car is spectacularly done and looks
especially striking in black and white with a red stripe in the chrome trim
that separates the two halves. Bodywork is beautiful, with straight panels
and excellent fit throughout, evidenced by the miles-deep reflections in
The real story on this Olds is the J2 371 cubic inch engine under the hood.
Fully rebuilt during the restoration, it runs like new and the passing of
years has proven that these are some extremely durable engines. Detailing
is first-rate too, from the 'Oldsmobile J2 Rocket" decals on the valve
covers, to the correct 2-barrel carburetors, to the original power steering
system that's fully functional. You'll note that this engine sports a trio
of shorty air cleaners on the carbs, but the original dual oil-bath air
cleaner is also included.
The engine is backed by a 3-speed Hydramatic transmission, and drives the
original rear end. Brakes were rebuilt to stock specifications, as was the
suspension, although the car was given a subtle, aggressive look by
tweaking the spring height slightly. The car wears a set of chrome Billet
Specialties wheels, but the original 15-inch steel wheels and plain hubcaps
From the tri-tone seats with patented GM comfort weave cushions, to the
positively breathtaking instrument cluster, this interior is new. The
original radio has been upgraded to include an iPod interface. The trunk is
sporting a custom carpet, but an original trunk mat is included.
This Olds is fast, comfortable, luxurious, and about 2/3 the cost of a
comparable Chevy. There are no irreversible modifications, and this car
could be put back to 100% stock condition in an afternoon. Act fast and
