WORLDS FASTEST street legal ELECTRIC CAR
SUBSCRIBE! Learn about EV technology: http://www.electric-vehiclenews.com/ Worlds fastest street legal ELECTRIC CAR 1972 Datsun 1200 Whtie Zombie. This car is based in Oregon... there are something like 18 hydro electric power plants in that state! Hydro generation accounts for 58% of all electricity in Oregon (Over 70% in Washington) and coal accounts for less than 7%. Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it costs just $1.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at $20.00 per 100kms. EVs use between 1/6th and 1/10th the energy of a comparable ICE powered car. Assault&Battery - Houston 1/2 Mile Compilation May 17 2014
Lonestar EV Racing Team took Assault&Battery to the Inaugural "US Mile" Houston 1/2 Mile Event. We made three runs, progressively faster with the best speed, 165mph in the 1/2 mile and a whopping 1/4 mile speed of 142mph. That 1/4 mile speed even impressed me. I don't know our 1/4 mile ET but I bet it was one of the best out there. This was extremely impressive to me because this was grooved concrete, so not only was the tire traction poor due to concrete, but it was about 1/2 air too. Our motor settings were 1600amps and 190V to each motor.

EV West isn't like other electric car builders. They aren't trying to save the planet from gasoline emissions, they are trying to build race cars using electric technology for events that can best use that technology. The Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, with a total driving distance of under 20 miles at very high elevation, is one of those events. We take their Pike's Peak M3 to the Dyno to find out what 400 Kilowatts means in horsepower, then to see how it drives.
