Findlay Ohio 1970 Karmann Ghia Volkswagon for Sale
This car was my Dad's gift to me when I turned 16 in 1993. He piddled with
it over the years, adding chrome, working on the interior and working to
turn it into a show car. He almost got it there, but passed away in 2008
after 6 months fighting lung cancer. He wanted it to be a show car and
that's what I want to see happen to it.
In the video, you can hear the car running, see it driving down the road
and hear all the doors open and close. There are also some pans over the
different sides of the car and the interior as well. You can also watch a
history of the car and see how it's looked through the years.
This car has always been kept in the garage. It's been babied and loved.
I'm a female and I've only driven the car on the highway a handful of
times. While it handles well, I never really liked to drive it hard. Most
of the mileage has been from in town driving and some country road trips.
It's solid underneath. The only rust it ever had that I'm aware of.. was in
the engine compartment. My Dad cut the rust out and replaced it with metal.
He never used Bondo in any car if he could avoid it.
All doors and hinges are solid.
All it needs are a few small things.. a horn medallion and a rear door
panel.. for the paint to be touched up and buffed (or completely repaint.
The top is black and virtually spotless. The red part has a few rough
This is a rare, functional clutchless stick. 1st and 2nd gear with Reverse.
Just let up off the gas and shift. Anyone can drive it! Even those
terrified of a Manual. Slow gear has never worked, the stick pops right
out. But I hear that's common and I've never found the need for Slow gear,
therefore we've never had it corrected.
The car has a few cracks in the dash. I also hear that is common. I had
considered just taking off the covering and painting it, but never have.
With this car you have an awesome benefit: I can tell you anything you need
1973 Karmann Ghia Driving Lesson
Be supportive guys, she's picked up driving this thing pretty quickly!
After about a week of working the various electrical bugs out of this Ghia
and tuning and tigthtening numerous components to spec, LaLaLauren311 was
ready to take her first drive. She is unable to drive a manual
transmission car (although she did pass motorcycle training on a
manual-shifted motorcycle) so she's received a quick lesson in how to
operate the car, and the rest went from there.
History: LaLaLauren311 has been crazy-wanting a Karmann Ghia for a while.
We've been searching high and low and not finding anything that fit our
needs of a decent running car at a super low cheap price. Then suddenly I
got a call one afternoon that a friend found a 1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
outside of Walmart. The fellow that owned it didn't much like working on
it, and when it didn't start up one day he chose to rather offload it than
After acquiring the car, I towed it home behind my Nissan 350Z and very
quietly and secretly parked it in the driveway and set up my camcorder to
capture LaLaLauren311's reaction.

A true classic - Karmann Ghia | Drive it!
Wulf Henrichs is a passionate collector of classic cars. He decided to take
a risky venture and bought an old classic over the internet for 17,000
euros without even taking a look at it. It's a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and
spent most of its life in the United States.

fantastic original 1960 VW Karmann Ghia for sale by Sunset Classics in
This unique example has only 20k original miles and it still retains the
original factory tires from 1960! The interior is original with the
exception of new carpet, and the little Karmann Ghia still sports its
original 36 hpr engine.
Stepping into this Karmann Ghia is like stepping into a time machine. The
ivory knobs and the ornamental chrome trim is straight out of the '50s (and
1960 of course). The "whirr" of the engine paints a smile on anyone's face
who is lucky enough to hear it. You can be proud driving this beauty no
matter what your destination.
The paint is not original but the paprika red and white color scheme is.
The floor pans look to be original and they are in good shape. At some
point there was some body work done to the panels just before the rear
wheels. The trunk is nice and the rear quarter panels look to be original
and they are in great shape. As you can see from the photos there is some
rust around the headlights and in front of the passenger side rear wheel.
But the paint and car look great overall, and these areas could be touched
up if desired.
The story history of this cute little car is both interesting and
extraordinary - check out the full story at the link above as well as
detailed photo gallery and more video. Then give me a call to claim her for
