New 2012 Honda Civic
Honda has launched the new Civic at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. Developed
specifically for the European market, the Civic will be offered exclusively
as a five-door hatchback and will compete in the C-segment, the heart of
European Car market. It will reach European showrooms in early 2012. The
designers of the new Civic wanted to keep the sporty and advanced elements
of the car's character but tailor them to express the new model's even more
elegant yet dynamic feel. In the build-up to the reveal of the new Civic,
Honda has released a series of short form films detailing its development.
The fourth of these films focuses on the design and quality.
2012 Toyota Camry
Last year Australian, freelance, TVC director Juan Jaramillo was chosen by
Toyota Motor Corporation's international advertising agency Hakuhodo to
direct a launch film for the global reveal of the all-new
seventh-generation Camry at the Guangzhou Motor Show.
The brief for the film was to unveil the next-generation Camry as a sharply
styled, new-era automobile with rational but ultra-technological appeal and
jam-packed with new features.
The two new models (sports and luxury sedan) feature a totally revamped
design where every exterior body panel is new; this meant the shoot had to
be organized like a Secret Service operation. Security guards outnumbered
grips and gaffers 5 to 1 as entire downtown Shanghai blocks and nearby
highways where cordoned off to shield the car from praying eyes (and mobile
phones) of passers-by. The production department liaised closely with local
police to ensure site security and crowd control at every location.
"The client was hyper-sensitive to the fact that the media had not yet
caught a glimpse of the new design and we all felt a huge responsibility to
do everything we could to ensure this remained so during the shoot," Juan
All the same the director's biggest challenge was still the weather!
Late-autumn in China can often be stormy and somewhat ominous. "As I was
already committed to treating the film in a more graphic way than your
typical car commercial in order to achieve an ultra-high-tech and dramatic
look, we had to shot when there were short breaks of intense light, risking
harsh reflections on the car but resulting in material with far higher
impact that offered up a lot more contrast to work with. We spent quite a
bit of time on telecine, balancing the brightness of the images, darkening
the backgrounds and generally making the car stand out"... he recalls. "I
liked the resulting effect, but it wasn't nearly colourful enough, so we
did several more extra passes adding a little motion blur to the
backgrounds and fine-tuning the opacity to bring some of the colour back.
Finally topping it all with fairly extreme virtual highlights, flares and
hotspots to end somewhere close to the ultramodern, clean feel the client
2015 Honda CR-V AWD SNOWY Off-Road Review (PART 1) on Everyman Driver
http://www.everymandriver.com/ - 2015 Honda CR-V SNOWY Off-Road Review
(PART 1) @EverymanDriver @IMDaveErickson
The 2015 Honda CR-V is a five-passenger crossover SUV offered in LX, EX,
EX-L and Touring trim levels.
The LX comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, full power accessories, a
rearview camera, cruise control, air-conditioning, a height-adjustable
driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40-split-folding
and reclining rear seat with trunk-mounted release handles, Bluetooth phone
and audio connectivity, and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player,
an auxiliary audio jack, an iPod/USB audio interface and Pandora Internet
The EX adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights with LED running
lights, a sunroof, fog lights, rear privacy glass, a retractable cargo
cover, keyless entry and ignition, an eight-way power driver seat (with
two-way power lumbar), heated front seats, a blind spot monitoring system
with a camera that shows your passenger-side blind spot (Honda's
LaneWatch), a 7-inch touchscreen, dynamic guidelines for the rearview
camera and a six-speaker sound system with an extra USB port.
The EX-L adds roof rails, heated side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview
mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, satellite
radio and a seven-speaker sound system.
The Touring tacks on 18-inch wheels, projector beam headlights, a power
lift gate, adaptive cruise control, a forward collision mitigation system,
a lane departure warning system, driver seat memory settings, a navigation
system and HD radio.
The navigation system (with HD radio) is optional on the EX-L trim, but
there are otherwise no factory options on any CR-V.
Every 2015 Honda CR-V comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at
185 horsepower and
181 pound-feet of torque. A CVT is the only available transmission. Buyers
can choose between front- and all-wheel drive on all trims.
The EPA's estimated fuel economy on 2015 CR-Vs with front-wheel drive is 29
mpg combined (27 city/34 highway), a superb showing for this segment. The
all-wheel-drive CR-V, at 28 mpg combined (26 city/33 highway), is right
The 2015 Honda CR-V comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and
traction control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a
rearview camera. The LaneWatch blind spot monitoring system (featuring a
camera of its own that displays passenger-side blind spot activity on the
7-inch touchscreen) is standard on all but the LX. The Touring boasts a
lane departure warning system and a forward collision warning and
mitigation system that's able to distinguish between vehicles and
pedestrians (and warn the driver accordingly) as well as apply automatic
braking intervention to reduce the severity of a collision.
The 2015 CR-V benefits from a handful of interior enhancements, starting
with a sliding center console armrest that flips up to reveal cavernous
internal storage (the old flip-down seat armrests and console bin have been
discontinued). Overall, this remains one of the most practical cabins in
the segment, providing plenty of nooks and crannies for just about any
personal items you might have. The seats are a strength, too, with firm,
well-shaped support in front and generous head- and legroom (or child-seat
room) in back courtesy of the reclining rear bench. Rear climate vents in
the back of the center console are a nice touch at this price point.
Honda has also added soft-touch dashboard inserts with simulated stitching
to give the CR-V a more premium vibe, but these we find less successful.
The current-generation CR-V has utilized subpar plastics in various cabin
locations from the get-go, and most of them have stuck around for 2015.
Numerous rivals look and feel more upscale inside. Happily, the controls
are logically laid out and easy to learn, including the widely available
7-inch touchscreen (EX and above) with its large, user-friendly icons.

2015 Honda CR-V Test Drive Video Review - Small Crossover SUV
http://www.autobytel.com/honda/cr-v/2015/?id=32972 There are a lot of folks
that are calling the 2015 Honda CR-V the best of the bunch when it comes to
small Crossover SUVs. Honda has made a slew of changes to the 2015 CR-V
starting of course with the styling. But its what’s underneath that makes
the big difference; the suspension has been revamped causing the ride and
handling to be much more comfortable. The base price for the new 2015 Honda
CR-V is $23,320.
Under the hood is the new 2.4 liter Earth Dreams engine and CVT
transmission. Power is rated at 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of
torque. Fuel economy figures are 27 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the
highway. If you are looking for something with more power than the Ford
EcoBoost might be up your alley. The
new CR-V also has a bunch of safety features.
