1961 Mercury Comet For Sale
I've owned this cute little 2-door Mercury Comet for a couple of years now
and I've just got to accept the fact that I will not have enough time to
I've already rebuilt the front end and fitted her with correct rims and
brand- new tires (if they have 25 miles on them I'd be surprised).
Still needs interior and interior refurbishing, but what a solid platform
to start with!
1963 Mercury Comet S22
Comet really came of age with this car! If Falcon could have the Futura,
Comet could have the S22! I'm amazed at the paint job on this car...it's
10 years old, but looks absolutely new! The owner tells me he has the
original tires! What a car!
1965 Mercury Comet 202 Hi Po 289 5sp
Comp's 271-S Nostalgia Cam. Mercury made 90 or so of the Cyclone cars with
the Hi Po. A 202 woud've dropped 150 lbs or more. Ford's darling Moostang
getting spanked at the dragstrip and on the strip would've been a marketing
nightmare for Ford. Recall Mercury was Ford's luxury line, yet was never
fully allowed to stretch its performance legs. These cars are LIGHTER by
100+ lbs than the Musk'tang.

Buick - History Documentary (1995)
This video is a wonderfully-done documentary, written and produced by
Michael Rose, on the history of Buick as presented in 1995 from the History
Channel's archive. Here is Michael's description of the video verbatim:
"No one would have believed that the tinkering of a plumber would turn into
the foundation of the world's largest corporation. But it did. David Dunbar
Buick invented a process to adhere porcelain to tubs and other bathroom
fixtures. But the Scottish immigrant dreamed of making a mark out of the
bathroom, and set to work building a car. By 1900, he enlisted the aid of
another inventor, Walter Marr, and they built their first vehicle. Their
invention attracted the attention of one of Michigan's wealthiest men,
William Crapo Durant, the president of the world's largest buggy-building
business. As soon as he drove one of Buick's early creations, Durant
realized that the days of the horse and buggy were over. He teamed up with
Buick, and the two went on to make history. By the thirties, Buicks were
regarded as some of the finest cars ever made. From the first Buicks
through the birth of General Motors and into history, this is the
compelling story of the partnership that eventually became the basis for
the largest company in the world."
'66 Buick Back From The Dead! - HOT ROD Unlimited Episode 5
On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, we raise a '66 Buick from the dead.
After spending 33 years sitting outside in the desert, the broken down
Buick Special is revived by David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of HOT ROD
and Rick Pewe of 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine.
Rick's mother bought the car when it was near new and parked it when the
transmission failed in 1978. In 2011, the guys spent two and a half days
wrenching on the car, with the hopes of driving it home from Phoenix to Los
Angeles. Come along for the ride and see what happens!
HOT ROD Unlimited appears every other Friday on the new Motor Trend
