He won the final round with an 11.17 against a close 11.21 from Kevin Barrett. Onward to the season finals in Phoenix next month! (UPDATE: He clinched the PRA Pro Gas National Championship in 2011 because of this race)
Vallero 912 Vintage Racecar - Unveiling
The July 12, 2014, unveiling of the return of the 912 Porsche body racecar
to Auburn, CA. Ray Vallero built and raced this car 1978-1992, it held the
NHRA record for it's class at the time. He sold it in 1992 and lost track
of it. Dawn and Tom Kerr recently bought it from a seller in Europe and
brought it back. ProGas national record holder Tony Klink held a party as
an unveiling to surprise Ray with the return of his racecar, after 22

Brouhard and their son Matthew (Ray's grandson), Rick Mortensen, AJ Simms,
Bob Hole, Jim Kikuchi, Don Bulitta, Trond Dahl from Norway, Greg Urrutia,
many current racers and friends of friends.

in-car footage of Ben Ford at the wheel of the WPVW supercharged drag bug ,
powered by a 2442ml supercharged type-1 engine . Great footage with wheels
in the air launch ...then hang on for a 7.6 sec pass!!! the silver gauge
through the steering wheel is the Boost gauge .
Starting The Phantom Ghia prostock VW
First fire up after engine assembly. The Phantom Ghia is a 9 second 1/4
mile, 1958 VW Karmann Ghia door slammer. Built by Robert Cook or Cooker's
V-Dubs in Clear Spring, Maryland and owned and driven by Rob Schultz.
****UPDATE**** this car now resides in France under new ownership.
boring 94mm holes in vw case
On the Bridgeport mill, done in two stages for a step up, one for the
piston and one for the cylinder. Many people bore the hole without a step,
but Ray Vallero likes to leave more material there for strength integrity.
Drag Racing 2-20-2011
Big money shootout at San Antonio Raceway in Texas. The new camcorder takes
much better video than my old digital camera...sorry about the wind noise
though. Cars were running 1/8th mile.
