Team Falken Chooses the Petit Le Mans as the Ultimate Proving Ground

Team Falken and its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, along with drivers Bryan Sellers and Dominic Cicero, will return to the ALMS battleground in the highly competitive GT2 class for the demanding 1,000-mile, 10-hour race spectacle known as Petit Le Mans. Falken Tires served notice early last year ago that it intended to capture the dynamism found within ALMS and use it to help build a higher profile of the engineering prowess and strength of the companys performance tires. We are eagerly awaiting the chance to compete again in the ALMS, said Andrew Hoit, Falken Tires Director of Marketing. Petit Le Mans is a very competitive, grueling event, and one we feel is a perfect forum for the return of our team and our product. Team Falken has spent the time between our last race and the upcoming event at Road Atlanta testing, as we are determined to have the right mixture of car, driver and tire compound for Petit Le Mans, added Rod Everett, Team Manager. We want to show that our time away from the series was well spent, particularly as we refined our specially fabricated Falken Azenis RT Slick. Painted in Falkens traditional teal and blue livery, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR will again be sponsored by Cleveland Golf of Huntington Beach, CA, a force on the PGA tour. Both companies pursue similar goals of longevity and durability and the marketing opportunities mesh well. This is an important race for us, said Nick Fousekis, Senior Consumer Marketing Manager, Falken Tire. Its a tough class to compete in, but we are confident we will put forth a very strong effort and help generate more attention on our products. Falken Tire Unveils Factory ALMS Team at Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA Fontana, CA-based Falken Tire, well regarded for its high performance tires, officially entered the 2009 American Le Mans Series highly competitive GT2 class by competing at Long Beach with its in-house-prepared Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. The car was driven by veterans Dominic Cicero and Bryan Sellers and ran on specially prepared Falken AZENIS RT slicks. Qualified in eighth position by Sellers, the Team Falken Tire RSR ran within a second of the race podium-winning #92 BMW car, a considerable accomplishment for a brand new team and tire that has never previously experienced the unforgiving Long Beach street course. The Porsche moved to seventh on the grid after the pole-winning car was sent to the rear for a ride height infraction. Sellers started the race, but reported shifting problems early on. He continued to nurse the car for 30 laps, maintaining his position of seventh, but eventually had to retire the Porsche. The team finished 20th overall and 12th in class. The car was extremely consistent for a long time, Sellers said. I was able to run a steady pace for the whole stint never dropping off more than four-tenths of a lap until we had transmission problems. Co-driver Cicero agreed: The tires were consistent and held up very well in our practices. We feel we have a great product for the 2010 season. Despite our race difficulties, our drivers were very happy with the Falken Azenis RT slicks, added Stephen Mitchell, Falkens Motorsports Manager. The team worked very well together for being our first race. Weve done a lot of testing, but this was a good experience under extreme pressure, stated Rod Everett, Falken team manager. We noticed vibration on very high speed during practice on Friday, and we pulled the transmission and examined it. Its a shame that we finished where we did, but thats racing. Well learn from this, move forward and do better next time. Long Beach also saw the debut of Falkens new tire team booth with a constant flow of traffic to the Falken paddock Friday and Saturday. Falken awarded a specially designed Falken collectible guitar to Tom Crowe as part of its at-track promotional efforts. The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is painted in traditional Falken teal and blue livery, now highlighted by its new sponsor, Cleveland Golf of Huntington Beach, CA. Cleveland Golf, a force on the PGA tour, embraces many of the same product development ideologies which Falken Tire Corporation applies to their Azenis RT Slick tires used for ALMS competition. The American Le Mans is an excellent series and the perfect platform for Falken to demonstrate the strength and capabilities of our technology and capabilities, noted Andrew Hoit, Director of Marketing, Falken Tire. The competition this year is extremely tough, and we knew that going in, because we wanted to be able to challenge the factory teams as well as the privateers and our competitors, the other tire manufacturers. Falken takes on the 2011 Long Beach Grand Prix
Finishing just one place out of a podium spot in the hotly contested GT Class, Team Falken's Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, piloted by Porsche Works and team driver Wolf Henzler, and his partner, team driver Bryan Sellers, ran strong all afternoon on the challenging streets of Long Beach, and ended up 4th out of 14 GT entrants during the annual visit by the American LeMans Series to the Long Beach Grand Prix, one of the most prestigious street races in the world, now in its 37th year.





2011 12 Hours of Sebring - Falken Tire
The 12 Hours of Sebring is an annual motorsport endurance race held at Sebring International Raceway, a former Army Air Force base in Sebring, Florida. This year, Falken Tire returns with the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and a new team for the American Le Mans Series. Walker Racing is a racing team founded by Derrick Walker in 1991 racing originally in the CART Championship Car series. With Walker's direction, and the driving abilities of Bryan Sellers, Wolf Henzler and Martin Ragginger, Falken hopes to build on the results of their 2010 season at the first race of the 2011 American Le Mans Series.





Team Falken Tire takes 8th Place at 2009 ALMS Finale, Laguna Seca
FONTANA, CA (Oct. 12, 2009) Finishing eighth in a crowded field of 14 entries in the GT2 class, Team Falken Tire came out ahead in its quest to build experience during its short 2009 race season as it prepares to contend the 2010 ALMS GT2 schedule with its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Driven by Bryan Sellers and Dominic Cicero, the team took on a shrewd fuel economy strategy to gain position on teams that did not enjoy as much efficiency. Pitting as little as possible, Team Falken ran as high as second during the race, a noteworthy accomplishment after qualifying 12th. It ultimately shaped up as a Porsche v. Corvette battle as race winners Jorg Bergmeister and teammate Patrick Long took the win and the GT2 championship in their Porsche 911 RSR. Congratulating the two drivers upon their victory, Team Falken Tire Race Manager Rod Everett also credited Porsche for the cars durability and the support of its personnel, who have helped Falken throughout the season. Well look forward to working with Porsche during the off-season as well, as we refine our package and perfect our Falken Azenis RT slicks, Everett said. The season marked the end of Team Falkens second year in ALMS, having worked with a privateer in 2008 before electing to develop and manage a factory-run team in 2009. We are very pleased with our efforts this year, noted Andrew Hoit, Falken Director of Marketing, and while naturally, due to our overriding competitive nature, we wanted to do better, we are clearly showing steady improvement as we move up the standings each race. Team Falken Rolls Dice in Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 13, 2009) Facing serious challenges from both competitors and the weather, Team Falken put on a valiant effort, but when it rolled the dice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Round 4 of the demanding Formula Drift competition, the team managed to make the Semi-Finals with Falkens Tyler McQuarrie losing to eventual overall winner Tanner Foust. McQuarrie placed fourth. Falken tires were on five of the cars that qualified for the top 32. Daijiro Yoshihara, driving the much improved Lexus IS350, was the best qualifier in 5th, but slid into the barrier as he led his round. While the damage was cosmetic, he was unable to move forward. Three team members would advance to the top 16 McQuarrie, privateer Ross Petty and Gittin. Unfortunately, Gittin suffered a cut tire due to debris as he started the next round, forcing him to make major corrections to his line while he competed on his three remaining Azenis RT615 tires. McQuarrie defeated Michael Essa to move to the Top 4, and after losing to Foust, battled Chris Forsberg for third, but was unable to take the win. Valiant efforts were undertaken by all, and Team Falken remains with three drivers in the top six positions. Overall standings now place Gittin in fourth, McQuarrie, fifth, and McNamara in sixth. Team Falken will head north by northwest when Formula D meets the Breaking Point at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA, for Round 5, August 7-8. Falken Wildpeak AT tire review
Review Of Falken Wildpeak AT tires at about 3000 miles. Size 245/17/65 so far very happy with tires I miss spoke in the video, noise starts at 40 mph and stop at around 55mph. I am hoping this maybe a balancing issue and it will go away next tire rotation and balancing. I will let you know. Over all I like the tires , they are smooth on the road and quit for the most part.They are wearing pretty evenly so far. Honda is not known for the sound damping ability read any review and you will see. Provided the world does not end in the next few years we will up size to a sequoia for our vacation SUV !!! I would say lost about a mile per gallon after getting these tire on.

falkentire.com Music by Hunt Club: myspace.com/huntclubmusic MONROE, WA Originally built as a horse-racing track, Evergreen Speedway saw plenty of horsepower over the weekend as Formula Drift arrived in town, with the venerable track challenging the drivers and their cars to the Breaking Point, resulting in Chris Forsberg taking the win, while Team Falkens Tyler McQuarrie finished a respectable third. Qualifying on Friday was challenging as the judges were very critical of all efforts. Nevertheless, seven drivers on Falken Azenis RT615 tires made the field, including all Team Falken factory entrants McQuarrie; Vaughn Gittin, Jr.; Darren McNamara; Daijiro Yoshihara; and Calvin Wan, plus privateers Ross Petty (who was in fact the number two qualifier) and Taka Aono. Amid tough competition all day long, two Falken drivers advanced to the Top 8 Round, as both McQuarrie and Gittin defeated their opponents to move to the Top 4. Unfortunately, Gittin was involved in a collision during this run and was unable to advance, while teammate McQuarrie lost to eventual winner Forsberg. In the battle for third overall, it was Team Falken v. Team Falken, as McQuarrie came out on top over Gittin, who was able to compete despite his accident in the previous round. The events trademark nickname, Breaking Point, lived up to its reputation as a number of entrants became casualties to the tracks banking and tight transitions throughout the course. However, McQuarries strong third place finish moved him to third overall in the Formula D Championship, while Team Falken teammate Vaughn Gittin, Jr., despite a semi-final performance, dropped to fifth, and Darren McNamara remained in sixth. August is Formula Ds busiest month, with a second event, Round 6, just two weeks away in the wine country of Northern California at famous Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, August 21-22. Team Falken will be locked and loaded when that event arrives.
