Supercharged DOHC Thunderbird on a Mustang Dyno
Final #'s are 343 rwhp and 314 tq. at 6k Rpms.I plan to take i to other Dyno also.
Finally got it tuned right, thanks to Dave and Kevin for getting it done.
Drove 4.5 hrs each way to get it done but it is so worth it. Car feels much
faster and stronger and runs 10X
better. On the way back home i averaged 24 mpg.This was a MustangDyno which they told me it has a
nickname "heart breaker" therefore #'s are lower then the other Dyno. People told me that i am
probably closer to 400 rwhp. Anyways enjoy the video!
My 97 Ford Thunderbird LX Limited Edition
It's a tour of my 97 Ford Thunderbird LX Limited Edition. I went over some
of the features. Showed the engine, did a start up along with an Exhaust clip.
This is my summer weekend ride right here. Got it back in 02 with only
11000 miles on it. I plan on keeping it as my classic.
Stage 2 4.6L 1997 Thunderbird LX
0:00 - 0:46: Startup and cold idle
0:46 - 1:27: Warm idle, 3000 then 1800 RPM
1:27 - 3:22: Freeway onramp, 70 MPH cruise and deceleration
3:22 - end: Warm idle, city cruise at 40
1997 Thunderbird LX 4.6L SOHC with Modular Head Shop ported stage 2 PI
heads and Bullet stage 2p cams. Mandrel Exhaust Systems 2.5" dual Exhaust with Magnaflow X-pipe and Dynomax Super turbo mufflers. 3500 stall torque converter and
3.73 gears. Dyno'd at
over 300 BHP. Sound recorded with two Sennheiser MKH-20s.

Here is a video of my custom 97' Tbird w/ automatic lamo doors and trunk.
They go up kinda slow but that's due to the doors being so heavy. Even
with a H.O. alt, Optima yellow top, and several kinetik 2400's. So
hopefully I can come up with a way to speed um up a lil. Thank you for

How to Install a PI Intake on a Non-PI 4.6L 2V Ford Engine

1997 Ford Thunderbird LX hesitation problem
I've been having some acceleration issues with my '97 T-Bird LX (4.6L V8).
Any time you punch the gas and try to gun it, the engine jerks and
hesitates like crazy, whether you're taking off or whether you're merely
trying to give it more juice while it's in motion (and that's at any
speed). You have to creep up on the gas in order to get it to not jerk.
Just had the fuel filter replaced, and it fixed the problem for a grand
total of 10 minutes. Really not sure what's going on. I don't know much
about auto mechanics just yet. It's a good running car otherwise, but this
is extremely annoying, and makes it difficult to drive normally (merging on
the freeway is a you-know-what).
