Volvo 940 GL Turbodiesel cold start at -17°C D6 2.4 D24TIC with vegetable oil
It started at around -17°C (07:40am) with 50% sunflower oil and 50% Diesel. Ok the six-cylinder died between, but started (more or less) nice again.
Thought it would be much more rough to get "Svensson" running with this mix...good boy ;-) turbodiesel Intercooler 90kw/122 PS/HP , 2,4l straight six.
New glow-plugs and Injectors in 2010.
NO, my thermometer is NOT in the fridge, its outside the kitchen window. Saturday, February 4th 2012 it was really cold here. (DE - 72108, Rottenburg) You will be able to get the temperatures if you are argueing.

This is a Cold start at -2°C after 12 hours standing and one "cold" night with something around -10°C. turbodiesel Intercooler 90kw/122 PS/HP , 2,4l straight six.
Its the "foggiest" day ever with this car. ;-) Car was frozen. The start was miserable, I reved a bit to get him some more stabile.
I´ll change the glowplugs and the injectors at the weekend of the 28.11. When the compression is ok on all six cylinders, they will be changed. If not I wont invest around 500-1000€. But whatever: VOLVO FOR LIFE! (Cars till Ford owned Volvo...)
Hopefully we can see the differece between old and new motorparts. I´ll show you the results if its done ;-)
