Volkswagen LT28 1979 with Volvo 2.4D TIC engine
An old-scool VW LT van (originally a 75Hp / 140Nm, 6 cylinder diesel
enigne), upgraded with an Volvo 940 2.4 diesel turboIntercooler engine (122Hp / 240Nm)
With the original engine a 0-100km/h acceleration happens in 41.6 seconds.
With the Volvo TIC engine is takes less than 20 seconds! (Not "officially"
BMW vs Volvo
A good film about BMW and Volvo. I hope you like then...
200km/h with a D24 volvo
My volvo 945 TDic (volkswagen inline-six) with auto. trans. performs very
well in the top-speed test, just above 200km/h (125mph.
not that bad if you keep in mind this is a 1700kg (3800lbs) car from the
early 90's with mechanical injection and pre-chamber design. those VW
diesels were used since '78 in volvo cars, so basically it's engineered in
the 70's with only a turbocharger added
over the years.
but it's RELIABLE! mine has 485000km (300.000miles) on the odometer with
the original engine, never overhauled, and still goin' strong!
Volvo 940 GL TD Turbodiesel smoking after cold start at -2°C D6 2.4
This is a Cold start at -2°C after 12 hours standing and one "cold" night
with something around -10°C. turbodiesel Intercooler 90kw/122 PS/HP , 2,4l
Its the "foggiest" day ever with this car. ;-) Car was frozen. The start
was miserable, I reved a bit to get him some more stabile.
I´ll change the glowplugs and the injectors at the weekend of the 28.11.
When the compression is ok on all six cylinders, they will be changed. If
not I wont invest around 500-1000€. But whatever: VOLVO FOR LIFE! (Cars
till Ford owned Volvo...)
Hopefully we can see the differece between old and new motorparts. I´ll
show you the results if its done ;-)
GOT SOME VIDEO WISHES OF THIS MACHINE?
