2013 Mercedes-Benz GL450 Test Drive & Luxury SUV Video Review

Mercedes-Benz GL represents the second generation complete with a redesign
that features tons of updates. The 2013 GL450 is larger, pack with tons of
technology, and more refined. On the outside the Mercedes GL is very
elegant and refined. This large SUV abounds in chrome and stainless steel
parts. On the inside the GL is chalked full of luxurious materials with the
ability to seat up to 7 passengers. Although the GL is larger, it weighs
less and gets much better fuel economy than the previous generation. There
are 3 different trims including the GL350 BlueTEC, GL4450, and GL550.
Prices range from $62,400 up to $86,900 but you can top out at over $100k
by adding on various packages and options.
There are 3 different engines that power the GL Class. One engine is a
BlueTEC diesel found on the GL350 while the other 2 engine choices are V-8
motors. The 2013 Mercedes GL450 is powered by a 4.6 liter V-8 that makes
362 horsepower and
406 lb-ft. of torque. This engine, paired with a 7-speed automatic,
averages 14 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway. Keep in mind the GL
is a full size 7 passenger luxury SUV weighing over 5400 lbs.
The 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL Class looks like a strong muscular SUV thanks to
the large dimensions, stainless steel skid plates, and distinctive design.
The Xenon headlights match perfectly to the LED daytime running lights
which are a must for any luxury vehicle. The drive system features Mercedes
4MATIC all-wheel drive to help keep the GL on the road.
On the inside the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL450 can seat up to 7 adults while
bathing them in high end luxury and comfort. Cargo room is plentiful at 83
cubic feet of space. The materials are top of the line. The front seats are
power operated with the capability to heat. There are 2 sunroofs to keep
both the second row and third row passengers happy. There are a few
optional packages and many different options that can be added. Mercedes is
on the forefront of technology and many innovations can be found on the

is a full size luxury SUV that seats up to 8 passengers and has Toyota
reliability. This all new and totally redesigned LX 570 is back for the
2013 model year featuring a better looking front end along with more luxury
and technology. The base price on the 2013 Lexus LX 570 Luxury SUV is
$80,930 making it one of the more expensive sport utility vehicles on the
The 2013 Lexus LX 570 is powered by a 5.7 liter V-8 that can be found in
other Toyota vehicles like the Land Cruiser and the Sequoia. This engine
has dual Variable Valve Timing and produces 383 horsepower and 403 lb-ft. of
torque. The transmission is an electronically controlled 6-speed unit with
a sequential shift feature. The 2013 Lexus LX 570 manages 12 MPG in the
city and 17 MPG on the highway. The LX 570 features full-time 4 wheel-drive
with a limited slip differential. This Luxury SUV is based on the Toyota
Land Cruiser which has great off-road ability. A couple other standard
features include Hill-Start Assist Control, Adaptive Variable Suspension,
Active Height Control, and Crawl Control. All these hardcore off-road
features may be a bit overkill for a Luxury SUV. The towing capability of
the 2013 Lexus LX 570 is 7,000 lbs.
On the outside the new Lexus LX 570 gets the same design and styling
treatment as many other new Lexus vehicles. The front bumper and grille
look similar to the GS series. A set of huge 20-inch alloys are standard on
the LX 570. These chrome rims are a must for any luxury SUV. Another
feature that is common to high-end luxury vehicles are the LED daytime
running lights and the LX 570 has a great looking set. There are other
chrome accent pieces located throughout the rest of the exterior.
On the inside of the 2013 Lexus LX 570, the passengers are bathed in both
luxury and technology. In the luxury department, this full sized SUV sports
fine leather and wood trim. The steering wheel has tons of integrated
controls. The gauges are quite sexy with electroluminescent blue
backlighting. There is a Dual-screen DVD rear entertainment system that's
available as an option. The sound system is by Mark Levinson and comes with
19-speakers located throughout the cabin. Lexus offers something called a
cool box which is essentially a fridge located in the armrest. Talk about
luxury! The 2013 Lexus LX 570 is equipped with everything else you would
expect from a high end luxury SUV including: Navigation, power fold rear
seating, climate control, Smart Stop technology, a Pre-Collision System,
The 2013 Lexus LX 570 is loaded to the hilt with safety, security, and
luxury amenities. Beyond that the LX 570 is a very capable off-road SUV.
There are very few choices out there if you are looking for an 8 passenger
Luxury SUV but the 2013 Lexus LX 570 has all the bases covered.

2012 Toyota Sequoia Test Drive & SUV Video Review

Sequoia is one of those vehicles that offers a ton of utilitarian value.
The Sequoia can seat up to 8 passengers, has tons of cargo room, and can
tow 6900 lbs. There are 3 models of Sequoia for purchase: the base SR5
costs $40,930, the Limited costs $51,040, and the Platinum costs $58,580.
The 2012 Toyota Sequoia comes in either 2WD or 4WD.
There are 2 different engines offered on the Sequoia for the 2012 model
year. Them smaller engine can be found on the lower model SUVs. This 4.6
liter V-8 engine makes 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft. of
torque. The larger engine is a 5.7 liter V-8 motor that makes 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft. of
torque. Both engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel
economy is 14 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway for the smaller 4.6
liter engine and 13 MPG in the city and 18 MPG on the highway for the
larger 5.7 liter engine.
On the outside there are a ton of standard features. The bumpers are color
matched to the rest of the body. The Sequoia gets standard fog lamps and a
chrome grille surround. The stock 18-inch alloy wheels look great but you
can upgrade to a set of 20-inch alloy sport wheels which really stand out.
The rear liftgate automatically opens and closes. Also the Sequoia comes
standard with a roof rack, running boards, and mud guards.
On the inside the Sequoia base model gets cloth seating but the Premium
models get leather seats that are power adjustable. The standard radio
comes with a CD player, Bluetooth, iPod connection, and Sirius XM Satellite
Radio. You can upgrade to a great 12-speaker JBL Synthesis stereo system.
There is also a touch-screen navigation unit as an option. As stated
earlier the 2012 Toyota Sequoia can seat up to 8 passengers. But there is
an option which swaps out the middle row seating with 2 oversized Captains
Chairs. The Sequoia also comes with power everything as a standard feature.

2012 Cadillac Escalade Test Drive & Luxury SUV Video Review

However the Escalade wasn't made for ordinary soccer moms and trips to the
grocery store, Cadillac's premium SUV was built for those looking for

diplomats, and other famous high profile people stepping out of an
Escalade. The 2012 Cadillac Escalade exudes style and sophistication, and
is also packed full of the latest and greatest technology as well as a very
powerful engine. The base price for this SUV is $63,170 with the top of the
line Platinum Edition AWD moving off dealer lots starting at $82,495.
The 2012 Cadillac Escalade is powered by a powerful 6.2 liter V-8 engine
that produces 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft. of
torque. The Escalade's transmission is a 6-speed automatic that is very
responsive and great for towing. The Escalade also comes with either a RWD
or AWD drivetrain. Fuel economy for the 4x2 model is 14 MPG in the city and
18 MPG on the highway thanks to Active Fuel Management which essentially
turns the Escalade V-8 into a 4-cylinder engine at low operating loads. The
suspension features Magnetic Ride Control Shocks that sense changes in the
road and make adjustments every few milliseconds. This technology allows
the shocks to dampen almost instantaneously providing a comfortable ride.
The Escalade has always been known to have the latest and greatest
technology available from Cadillac. Some great features found on the 2012
model include: Blind Zone Alert, Touch-Screen Navigation, Bose surround
sound, and more. There is DVD entertainment for the rear passengers.
Leather seating and surfaces along with high end wood trim pieces are
prevalent in the 2012 Cadillac Escalade. And now the Escalade also features
cool LED headlights and taillights.

► 2013 Lexus LX 570 - INTERIOR
The spacious, eight-passenger cabin of the LX 570 receives a number of
upgrades and changes. The driver's seat gets a new Easy Access system,
which makes entering and exiting the vehicle easier. The steering wheel and
driver's seat automatically retract when the ignition is turned off. Front
seats also feature improved cooling, and a 120-volt power outlet has been
added to the middle row. The instrument panel has been updated and a new
color display is applied. A dark chrome finish for the center instrument
cluster and front side air vents, along with a new chrome accent above the
glove box, freshen the look of the instrument panel as well.
The cabin of the 2013 LX 570 also gets mahogany wood trim. Parchment
replaces Cashmere as an interior leather trim color. Two new exterior
colors are available: Medium Nebula Gray Pearl and Satin Cashmere Metallic,
replacing Twilight Gray Metallic and Golden Almond Metallic.
The LX 570 offers an optional Luxury Package that includes a cool box for
beverages; semi-aniline leather-trimmed upholstery with contrast stitching,
heated steering wheel and mahogany wood trimmed door door switch plates;
heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row seats (outboard
position only); and Smart Access.
In addition to the Luxury Package, the new LX 570 now features a rear dual
screen rear-seat entertainment system with wireless headphones and
three-prong electrical outlet. This system allows two video sources to be
viewed at the same time -- for instance, one can be used as a DVD player
while the other as a game console or audio player.
For audiophiles, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound
