Many luxury car manufacturers are making compact and sub-compact cars that are designed to get younger car buyers into the brand. The ILX is an example of a more affordable luxury car for those who are not yet ready to step up and purchase a $50k automobile. The 2013 Acura ILX is essentially a rebadged Honda Civic. The good news is you can get into the Acura ILX for only $25,900.
The familiarity of the 2013 Acura ILX with the Honda Civic starts up front with the engine. The 2 different engine offerings are nearly identical to the Civic counterpart. For example the base engine is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder that makes 150 horsepower and 140 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic and the fuel economy checks in at 24 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. If you are looking for something a little bit more sporty, then there is a larger 2.4 liter VTEC engine that makes 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft. of torque. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy for this more powerful engine is 22 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
This main difference between the Civic and the ILX are the luxury features and amenities. The seats are more comfortable, the interior materials are more high-end, and there is a ton of technological features not found in the Honda Civic. The Acura ILX can be called a premium commuter car and it does a good job at providing a nice comfortable and quiet ride. The controls are better and the navigation system is superb when comparing the ILX to the Civic.
If the Acura brand is important to you and you crave special attention at the dealership, then the ILX is a good pick. This compact luxury car also has a better warranty than the Civic. The 2013 Acura ILX is significantly more quiet than the Civic and that is what you would expect in a premium car; more insulation, more sound deadening, and a much better stereo system as well. The ILX is available in a handful of different trim levels that include a base model, premium, technology, and even a hybrid.

This second generation RDX looks much better than its predecessor. The lines are sleek and the look is more in-line with the rest o the Acura family of luxury cars. The 2013 Acura RDX has a base price of $34,320 with the top of the line model featuring AWD and the Technology Package starting at $39,420.
Gone is the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the first generation. Instead Acura decided to go with a 3.5 liter V-6 engine found in many other Acura vehicles. This engine produces 273 horsepower and 251 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is good as the FWD model gets 20 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. So how does the Acura RDX get better fuel economy from a larger engine? Well the RDX features VCM which stands for variable cylinder management; meaning the RDX engine can shut down a couple of cylinders at cruising speeds thus saving fuel. There is also a trick 6-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters to keep the driver engaged.
On the inside of the 2013 Acura RDX the front seats are some of the most luxurious and comfortable seats in the industry. Besides the supple leather, the seats have dual-level heaters, and the driver gets a 10-way power adjustable seat. There is an optional ELS Stereo Surround System that was developed by Grammy winning sound engineer Elliot Scheiner. This system features 10 speakers including tweeters and a subwoofer, a 41-watt amplifier, and a 15GB hard drive for storing music. The 8-inch navigation system is featured in the Technology Package which is on the more expensive models.
Besides the luxury amenities the 2013 Acura RDX features many safety advancements including airbags front, side, and curtain, ABS, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist, and more. The 2013 Acura RDX is a great choice for those looking into buying a 5 passenger luxury crossover SUV.

Not only is the Q5 is a great looking vehicle but it is powered by one of the most well known engines in the entire world. This luxury crossover SUV has been on the market since 2009 and in that time the Q5 has carved out a nice spot as one of the top small luxury crossovers in the U.S. The 2012 Audi Q5 has a base price of $35,600 for the 4-cylinder engine and $43,000 for the V-6 engine. There are 3 different trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The top of the line Prestige goes for a little over $50k.
There are 2 different engines that power the 2012 Audi Q5 luxury crossover SUV. The first and most famous is the turbocharged and direct injected 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that powers many vehicles in both the Audi and Volkswagen line of automobiles. This potent little engine makes 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a slick 8-speed automatic that helps the Q5 get 20 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. The other engine offering is a 3.2 liter V-6 that produces 270 horsepower and 243 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission attached to this motor is a 6-speed automatic. This larger more power engine and transmission combination nets 18 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway.
The 2012 Audi Q5 used for this test drive is the Premium Plus model which enjoys a couple of great upgrades over the base model. The Premium Plus Q5 comes equipped with Audi legendary Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. The LED lights have really become a symbol for the Audi luxury brand. The Panorama sunroof is massive and adds a lot of sunlight to the interior. On the inside the Audi features some great luxury features like 12-way adjustable power seats, 3-zone climate control, high end wood trim, and leather surfaces. But the 2012 Q5 is not just all luxury; Audi is known for integrating tons of technology into their vehicles. The Q5 crossover also has Bluetooth, a power lift gate, push-button start, Homelink and more. The interior of the Audi Q5 is absolutely gorgeous.
Compared to the competition in the Luxury Crossover SUV segment, the Audi Q5 is so much more elegant and sexy. The interior is made of quality materials and packed full of useful technology. The exterior looks great and the LED lights really accent an already lovely vehicle.

2010 Acura ZDX Tech Review, Walkaround, Exhaust, Test Drive
A unique, quick, and fun to drive vehicle built to satisfy empty nester couples in need of some versatility that don't necessary want the same cookie cutter SUVs that everyone else drives. We would highly recommend just sticking with a more traditional SUV as the low roof and coupe-like body really turn this vehicle into the answer to a question that nobody was asking.
