Short Takes: Restomod 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista (Start Up, Exhaust, Full Tour)
For an in depth tour of a factory el camino check out this link!
In continuation of my "Short Takes" video series at All City Auto, I give a
tour of a 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista. I take viewers on a close
look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details,
over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle
itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see
how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car
designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
2016 Chevrolet El Camino SS
Chevrolet El Camino
Chevrolet El Camino was a coupe utility vehicle produced by
the Chevrolet division of General Motors between 1959--60 and 1964-87.
Introduced in the 1959--1960 model years in response to the success of
the Ford Ranchero, its first run lasted only one year. Production resumed
for the 1964--1977 model years based on the Chevelle platform, and
continued for the 1978--1987 model years based on the GM G-body platform.
Although based on corresponding Chevrolet car lines, the vehicle is
classified and titled in North America as a truck. GMC's badge
engineered El Camino variant, the Sprint, was introduced for the 1971
model year. Renamed Caballero in 1978, it was also produced through the
1987 model year.In Spanish, El Camino means "the road".
Camaro vs El Camino
Mistype= I meant to put 305 instead of 302.
A $800 Camaro vs a
$1200 El Camino.
Four short races. The first race isn't very good.
The Camaro has a 305
not a 302 thats my bad lol, and the El Camino has a GM 350 crate motor.
The El Camino looses to the Camaro because it doesn't have
posi trac, so it spins out of the hole, and the transmission in it sucks a
big old dick.
Neither of these cars are mine, so i was impartial when i made the video.
Please check back in the spring of 08. I'm dropping a GTO motor with 400hp
into my 1968 LaMans, and I plan on beating some rice burner ass.
Also, the first song is "Raise Hell" by Hed PE, and the second song is
"Flirtin' with Disaster" by Molly Hatchet.
Launching the Mean O' Camino
Testing my ability to launch the car off the line without smokin' the
tires, dropping the nose, and keeping the darn thing straight! I still need
to adjust the carburetor but I'm getting there! If I weigh down the rear
and put on the fat wrinklies, she'll try and raise the front end!
