Some guy driving a Subaru in a circle had to be edited out of the original,
sort of. Halfway.
[HD] '90 Subaru Loyale Water Pump Replacement
I posted a video a few days ago of coolant leaking from my engine. I
replaced the gasket, and no luck. Concluded that my water pump was the
problem, so I just installed my old pump from my old engine, since I know
that it was working. This is why OEM Japanese parts work better than a
cheap aftermarket part.
There are two things I forgot to mention. First, you need to remove the
outer timing belt cover to get to the water pump bolts. And two, if you
have air conditioning, you'll have to remove/move the compressor too.
Pretty simple of a job. Takes me about an hour, then 24 hours to let the
RTV cure. Oh, and you have to wait a few days for the dealership to get the

This hill was a lot steeper than it looks on video! Plus the car has 272k
miles on it and a blown head gasket! Still going strong though...

1973 Subaru GL1400 Coupe at AlphaCars in Boxborough MA
1973 Subaru with original 63Kmi at AlphaCars. Two owner car (both very
caring), Solid Body, minimal under-body surface rust, no structural rust.
Car was treated by "Rusty Jones" several times. It has a very solid Maaco
paint job that was done about three years ago and holds up really good.
Engine has typical Subaru light thumping noise at idle that according to
the owner was there for years. Car drives perfect, excellent brakes and new
tires, new clutch and new alternator. Very clean interior, minor wear
through the driver's side carpet to the left of the clutch pedal. Seats ant
trim are perfect with the exception of the driver's seat bolster that has a

The bad part is that this engine was only in the car temporarily. It was
soon installed into a much newer Subaru, which means no more videos. I
really wish I had been able to get more footage!
This car belonged to my Subaru enthusiast buddy, I film many different
vehicles as well as my own.

Sorry for the black screen at the end. Random rendering glitch, I assume.
My shifter in my car used to suck. It was really hard to find fifth and
reverse, first and second gear looked like third and fourth, and there was
lots of play in the shifter when in gear. The answer? My shifter bushings
were shot. I went to the junkyard and just took the entire shift linkage
out of a car with good bushings. Definitely was worth it, since my shifter
feels great now.

[HD] '90 Subaru Loyale Offroading (May 23, 2013)
Nothing major. Just some light offroading that is well within the
capabilities of the car. I never even switched into 4WD Hi, let alone 4WD
Lo. Entire video was done in FWD. I didn't want to do anything major, since
my engine is still relatively new to my car. Plus, without a lift kit,
ground clearance is definitely an issue for major offroading.
Anyways, just driving through the woods in my Soob. Nice to be in the
Subaru's natural habitat. :P I would've gone much further on the trail, but
as I started climbing in elevation, I reached some snow. Snow is nothing
for the Subaru, but again, ground clearance is an issue. Snow is
unpredictable and I can get high-centered if I'm not careful. By the time I
got to the snow, I was far from civilization. Without another person in
another car, I didn't feel comfortable continuing by myself. Headed back,
and good thing because I lost one fog light along the way. Was able to
retrieve the light and hook it back up. :P
Location is Tinkham RD, east of North Bend, WA. Exit 42 off of I-90.
Definitely a great spot, from what I can tell. First time being there, and
I'll definitely go back soon!
