Year One Bandit Trans-Am [S2 Ep.1-2]
Quick... what is the most famous car movie of all time? Bullitt? Vanishing
point? Gone in 60 seconds? Nice guesses, but in terms of influence and
sheer popularity, Smokey and the Bandit stands above them all. Today on
GEARZ! Stacey takes a look at not only the cultural impact of Smokey and
the Bandit, but also it?s most famous character - the black Trans Am. Then
it's off for a test drive of Year One's new Burt Reynolds Bandit edition
Trans Am to see if it lives up to the true supercar status of the original.
Finally, Stacey takes a look, and shows you how to use, one of the most
mysterious and versatile metal working tools out there - the English Wheel.
So strap in and hold on, because we're east bound and down...

My '78 Trans Am 400 CID 4 BBL V8, 200-R4 auto transmission with overdrive
and a 12 bolt rear main wth Richmond 4:11 gears. Built in Norwood, OH, it
was shipped to Atlanta, GA and spent all of her life there until I bought
it in August '08. My son Spencer and I flew down to Atlanta and drove her
back - boy was that a blast! The registration is the same as in Smokey &
The Bandit. The rims were reconditioned perfectly and the brand new tires

77 Plantinum Bandit @ The Dyno!
Here is a quick upload of the Dyno session we did with the
Platinum Bandit just after the TA Nats this year.
The Platinum Bandit, is an original 77 SE 4spd TA, that we converted over
to a lot of modern technology to make it a fun road ready car with a lot of
power. The 474 stroked engine we recently built for it with the help of
Butler Performance, will be featured in the next issue of High Performance
Pontiac Magazine. Pushing 585HP off of 89 Ethanol fuel, with plenty of
vacuum and drive-ability, really makes this car come alive! I will be
posting a video of all the updated components and their manufacturers soon.
