The BMW 6 has big petrol engines which are powerful and make a great noise, and with a good motorway ride and strong refinement, it's a great way to thunder across continents.
It's pricey, the low-speed ride is firm, and space is tight in the rear seats. The weight of the car and the remote steering means it could feel sportier in bends, too.

The 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe has a classy and comfortable cabin, and it's available with excellent engines. The diesel is particularly impressive, combining strong performance with average economy of more than 50mpg.
It always feels like a big, heavy car, and the ride can be unsettled. The petrol models will be expensive to run and the rear seats are best left to kids.
The BMW 6 Series Coupe is not the most agile of coupes, but it's a fine grand tourer.

Fazit:
Im Markt der großen und schönen Cabrios muss sich der BMW 6er der Konkurrenz von Mercedes SL, Jaguar XK und Maserati GranTurismo stellen. Mit dem harmonischen und eleganten Design wird er hier sogar gegenüber der britischen und italienischen Konkurrenz trumpfen können.
Das BMW 6er Cabrio steht steht ab März 2011 für Preise ab 83.300 Euro (640i) beziehungsweise 94.300 Euro (650i) beim Händler. Publikumspremiere feiert das 6er-Cabrio auf der Detroit Auto Show im Januar 2011.
Nach dem Marktstart wird die Modellfamilie dann schnell ergänzt. Im Spätsommer kommt das zweitürige Coupé, für Anfang 2012 wird das erstmals angebotene viertürige Coupé erwartet.
