2000 Mercury Mystique Issues
UPDATE:i was searching on google and found a mystique owner that kept record of all the things that happened to his mystique. he mentioned something about an idle air control valve that had something flapping inside and making it hum. if anyone can confirm this, please visit his website WWW.TEDFELIX.COM to read about his experiences and let me know. this car is a Mercury Mystique year 2000, 148k miles on it. was my moms but my dad got a new car and my mom got my dads, and i got my moms. so my mom basically put this car through alot. but this is the only engine issue i have with it, everything else is body work. but when i rev the car to 3000rpms, it makes a loud humming noise that lasts for bout 15 seconds, then stops and the car's idle drops very much. sometimes the car will start humming when i put it in reverse or when its sitting at a red light. what does this mean? what kinds of things should i have the dealership look into?

I'm in love and don't care what people think or say about my 1995 mulit color, science project Ford Mercury Mystique. To save on arguments about money needed for fixes we find red neck ways of fixing the engine, leaks and clunking noises. I tell my mechanic every time I need to see him that "I'm going to drive this car forever!" I never get the response I want and now I am hoping that my prayers come true with Discovery Channel worst beater.
