Replace VW Floor Pans in 10 Minutes - (VW Thing)
Yes, I know... the whole procedure wasn't completed in 10 minutes, but this video depicts how I did it in about 10 minutes of run time. :-P This 1974 Volkswagen Thing floor pan came to me so rusted there was hardly any old floor pans to cut out of it. But along with some new floor pans from KlassicFab (Gerson) of Green Metal fame some basic tools and general know-how the floor pans were replaced along and some additional rust damage got repaired. I didn't get any pics of the body, but it is in pretty bad shape in the middle. Unlike most air-cooled VWs, a Thing is a 4-door car, so we may just cut one row of doors out of it and then shorten the pan to accommodate the then shortened body. We'll see what the owners decide to do, this car may come back for some more custom or restoration work!
