Another run with my old ladies Saturn Ion Sport Quad Coupe 2.4L. I misshifted as you can hear. Will eventually post clips of hard launches (even though it had traction control) and or 1/4 miles passes as well.

This 1 has a 2.2L 4 Cyl making 140 HP while paired to a CVT.
This is a Coupe but it has 2 small doors that open for rear set passenger. Typical Low Rent Saturn Interior of 2004. Very Creaky & Squeaky plastics everywhere. It is not a small car & can accommodate 4 passengers Rater well, but execution of the car was done poorly.

The Saturn ION was introduced in the 2003 model year as a replacement for the SL. The size of the steering wheel was increased beginning with 2005 models and its number of spokes was increased from two to four. Also, the driver airbag deployment characteristics were changed slightly.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was reasonably well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the B-pillar. Also during the impact, the steering wheel broke off from the column.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the neck and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. High head accelerations occurred when the dummy's head hit both the steering wheel through the airbag and the B-pillar, indicating that injuries to the head would be possible. Forces on the right tibia indicate that injuries to the lower leg would be possible.

2007 Saturn Ion Front Suspension Problem
Took my Ion to the shop to fix low-speed clunking. Turned out to be lower control arm bushings, but they first "misdiagnosed" it as strut issues. So they replaced the struts. Ever since then, the front suspensions creaks when I turn the wheel. I took it back, and they spray lubed it, but it didn't help (of course).
2007 saturn ion 2.4L with performance package
Has custom air intake and high flow Exhaust but still have some issues with the engine not responding fast enough. You can see the engine light on the dash which I can make go away if I restrict the air flow around the air flow sensor in the air intake pipe.
Saturn Ion 42mph Reverse!
I took my car out to a back road to see how fast it would go in reverse... i end up losing control at about 42mph and end up sideways on the side of the road. i almost flipped! Dumb idea? Probably.
Bored as hell? DEFINITELY!
2003 Saturn Ion that won't start in cold weather
Documenting my attempt to use a fix I found on the internet to resolve an issue that plagues 2003-2004 Saturn Ions. The models in this year can have difficulty starting in cold weather. At first it was pretty sporadic for me but this year it was almost constant.
In the video I replace the ignition switch which actually ended up resolving my problem. I guess there is a lubricant in this switch that SHOULDN'T harden in cold weather but the ones that shipped in the cars of these years do. Total cost $29.99 and about 30 minutes of time.
The specific symptoms you will see with this issue are (usually in cold weather) you will try to start the car and it might crank a couple times but then die. When you try to start it again you will hear a short fire but then it stops. This is because the security system has kicked in and shut off fuel to the vehicle for 10 minutes. After you wait 10 minutes you can try to start it again. This cycle can happen multiple times (at its worst I would have to go almost an hour of doing this).
Once you replace the part you may have to reset the security (passlock). This is done by turning the key to start (but it won't) and then leaving it in the run position until the lock light in the dash quits blinking (about 10 minutes). You then do this again (again waiting 10 minutes) and finally a THIRD time (waiting another 10 minutes). After the third attempt you turn the key to OFF and wait 30 seconds (this waiting is important I am told!). It should then fire up.
