Dave Mac's TUFFR1 Toyota KE20 Corolla is back with a 20B turbocharged rotary engine. The car had previously run 8.5 at 162mph using a smaller 13B engine. Power is transmitted through a Liberty 5-speed manual transmission to 28x9in slicks.

Toyota Hiace V8 turbo Van
Burt Willemsen's Toyota Hiace transport Van has run a best time of 8.9-seconds at 154mph over the quarter mile. Power comes from a Garrett turbocharged small block Chev 383ci LT1 V8 engine equiped with a dry ice Intercooler and MoTeC fuel injection. Drive is through a ProTrans Powerglide and Pro 9in rear end. The engine is mounted under the driver.

Nissan TB48 turbo Torque Monster Dyno tuning a Nissan Patrol TB48 4.8L six. The engine is now rebuilt with forged pistons and rods and features a custom JPC turbo at 10psi Boost and MoTeC EFI. Not built for outright power, but instead good throttle response and reliability the engine will be going into an off-road dirt truck. Initially making close to 600Ib.ft at just 3000rpm, torque was backed off for the truck's first shake down runs. A final figure of 559hp was achieved, not bad for a low Boost application.

Charles' Promaz Mazda FD RX-7 runs a personal best pass at Heathcote. The triple rotor stock import engine sounds great and certainly spices things up. Boost comes from a Garrett GTX42R turbo on just 13psi Boost, MicroTech LX12 computer running on regular pump 98-octane unleaded. The drive-line still remains factory RX-7 issue and on the day saw Charles break not only a gearbox but also a driveshaft. [ http://www.promaz.com.au ].

1918 Gnome rotary engine running
November 7, 2009, finally got the engine running right. It has an ignition selector switch that allows it to run at 1/2 power, 1/4 power, and 1/8 power. This engine will be used in a replica 1918 Nieuport 28.

Rotary Engine Breakthrough?
The Wankel engine always held out a lot of promise, but never was able to fully deliver on those promises. It was never very fuel efficient, and the Exhaust temperatures were very high. But now an independent car tech thinks he has stumbled onto what held that engine back.
