The car was driven for the first time by Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson during a 4 days test in Sardinia at the beginning of May 2008. The official WRC debut was during the 2008 Acropolis Rally of Greece, beginning on the 29th of May. The car was moved by a 1994cc turbocharged flat four engine with a limited power of 300bhp @ 5500rpm and a torque of 650 Nm @ 3000rpm. The driver of this car is the italian Pierfranco Uzzeni A little curiosity about the name of the Subaru's rally cars: The different way to call the same model of an Impreza WRC derives from the different nomenclature existing between Subaru and Prodrive: for Subaru WR Team, for the car produced from 1997 to 1999, the car was referred to as the WRC97, WRC98 etc., and for years 2000 they were refferred to as WRC2003, WRC2005, etc Instead Prodrive referred to the car by using an "S" followed by a growing number, starting from the S5 (the equivalent of the WRC99). So the car of the video is known both as the Subaru Impreza WRC2008 and Subaru Impreza WRC S14. Their ability to finish the event is now in question, but with bandages and ice David Higgins refuses to give up valuable championship points and finishes the Ojibwe Rally. The final rally will be a winner-take-all battle royale. Houghton, Michigan. Home of the Lake Superior Performance Rally - the final and deciding round of the twenty-thirteen Rally-America Championship. This is the closest championship race in years, and both sides have claimed their intention to win. The air of calm confidence and smiles is just a mask hiding the intense emotion and pressure these teams are facing. Ken Block and Ford must win to take the championship. Higgins and Subaru need to get in their way. As the cars arrive at the start of the first stage, the usual friendly banter and socializing is gone. The teams stick to themselves and focus on the task at hand. The speed is immense and the two teams trade seconds back and forth all weekend.
