und in sämtlichen Rennen kam der Wagen auf die Pole. Der Rennwagen wird
seit 2013 intentensiv bei historischen Motorsport Veranstaltungen
eingesetzt und schlägt sich mit Jaguar XJS, Jaguar E Type sowie vielen
anderen Historischen Rennwägen wie dem Ford Mustang, dem Lotus Cortina oder auch
dem Hundeknochen Escort RS2000.
Bei der DRM wurde der Ford Capri RS in den 70er Jahren eingesetzt und von
Piloten wie Jochen Maas oder Hans Heyer eingesetzt und fuhr dort gegen die
Porsche 911 und Porsche 911 RSR. Sowie auch die bekannten Bmw 635 CSI oder
teilweise auch die Bmw 2002 turbo. Der
Capri, ein reinrassiger Starrachsbolide. Hier ausgerüstet mit dem 3,4
Liter Cosworth Motor leistet bis zu 480Ps bei 8900 Umdrehungen und ist
damit ein Hochdrehzahlmotor mit 24 Ventilen im V6 Motor mit geeignetem
Zylinderwinkel für hohe Drehzahlen.
Auch heute treten noch oft Hobbyrennfahrer in Ford Capri an und fahren
gegen modernere Rennwägen wie den Bmw e30 sowie e30 m3 und die E36 armada.
Viele der Fahrzeuge dominieren auch im Historischen Motorsport in
Deutschland und werden teilweise auch im Drift Sport eingesetzt.

Ford Capri Mk1 - 160 Hp - Pinto Race Engine
My Capri mk1 GT with Pinto engine and Brainless Exhaust System 3" Selfmade with Hks Muffler and
Fk dumper and Magnaflow with Race Headers. Sounds great for an Pinto OHC
Engine. Stainless Steel.
The engine is modified by my self and have a lot of horsepower. Never was on the
roll, but i Dragraced again a Bmw E36 325 with 192Hp and I was faster by 1 second on the 1/4 Mile.
Crazy Sound with Wheelspin in 2. Gear. On the Hockenheim Race Track the car
beats a Maserati Biturbo and some old
Porsche 911. The Car is Street Legal.
Tyres are Federal SS595 with 205/60 R13 - great tyres for a good price. In
future the car maybe become a capri turbo with a k04 turbocharger. The engine is a ohc pinto like in
the escort mk2 rs2000 rally cars. but no 16v cosworth engine and no 1800rs.
It could be good to drive rallyes too to be an rally car.
the cars weight is only 890kg ;-) so the handling is really great!
I wishI could buy the Federal 595 RS-R in the right dimension.

Partial throttle runs for fuel mapping. Dyno was set to sweep
1000-7000rpm in 18 seconds. Limiter at 6450rpm. Crash at 5400rpm most
likely due bad conrod bearing.

A striking pre-facelift Ford Capri 1600 with Custom Plan 'L' Pack and three
owners from new.
Chromed front and rear bumpers, rectangular sealed beam headlamp units with
integral sidelights, chromium plated Exhaust trim, lockable fuel cap, dummy air
scoops, heater/demister two speed fan, single speed windshield wipers, foot
operated two jet windshield washers, padded sun visors, interior light,
front package tray, interior bonnet release, front and rear ashtrays.
This stunning early Ford Capri is finished in Ford Red, (colour code BN),
and has a deep glossy finish. This car stands very proud and attracts
positive reactions everywhere. According to his son, the owner wanted a
base 1600 for the design purity but opted for this vehicle to avoid the
long waiting time! Fitted with the Custom Plan L Pack, (the exterior
dress-up pack), he removed the bright metal trim and kept it boxed thus
creating the look he desired! The vehicle is fitted with lightweight
composite front wings and there are a few micro-blisters at the top of the
passenger 'A' pillar. Repair sections have been professionally welded in
the floor and inner rear wheel arches and it is structurally perfect. The
chrome is bright and in excellent order. The original front screen has
some wiper arm markings. A stunning Capri.
The slide-mounted, adjustable, bucket-style front seats are deep wide and
beautifully sprung. They are in excellent condition with no tears or
markings. The driving position is low with all the instrumentation clear
and operational. An additional tachometer was fitted in 1973 and is a
beautiful period accessory in full working order. There are no cracks in
the fragile dash top and the heater fan is functioning. The original black
carpeting is a little worn in places but still very presentable. The
out-of-sight 'lights on' rocker switch has been replaced and a period
wooden Mountney steering wheel fitted. The original item still boxed to
return to standard if required. The door cards and roof lining are all in
excellent order with a few tiny nicks. Delightful, retro and comfortable.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The famous 1600 Kent engine is still fitted to this original Capri and is
strong, well maintained and responsive. Offering 75 bhp and a top speed of
93mph it has a clean crisp Exhaust
note and is brilliant fun. Simple mechanics and excellent parts
availability ensure cost effective running costs for the novice classic car
owner. The short, remote floor shift offers slick changing through the
superb 4-speed all-synchromesh gearbox and the diaphragm spring clutch is
light and progressive. Superb.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Shortly after purchase the owner invested in the now highly desirable 5 ½
X 13 Shelby Cal 500 Slot Mag Alloy Wheels. These are immaculate and the
invoice in the history file from John Brown Wheels revealed these cost £80
new! Quality tyres and ample tread with strong brakes offer safe handling.
This vehicle was purchased new by George Hall on the 1st January 1970 and
supplied by Ford Main Agent, Perry's of Southend. All the original
documents are supplied with the car including the green Buff Style Log
Book, Capri Owner Handbook, Capri Ford Service Booklet and even the
manufacturers build specification sheet! The genuine mileage of 93,373 is
left in no doubt, owning to the original owner having kept every MOT from
the first in 1973! On passing away the vehicle was transferred to his son
in May 2012, a Mr James Hall. The vehicle was sold by KGF Classic Cars in
October 2012 to avid classic car collector Mr D Conway where it has formed
part of an extensive collection. Mr Conway's enthusiasm for classic cars
never falters, and his desire to continually refresh his fleet has given
KGF Classic Cars the privileged task of finding a new keeper for this
wonderful Ford Capri.
All spare keys remain present and an original Ford Capri Brochure is
included in the sale.

Test Drive the 1974 Ford Capri V8!
Hi! This is Agent 8771's 1974 Ford Capri, featuring a high-output 302 V8
and Borg-Warner T5 transmission hooked to a Ford 9 inch positraction rear.
This car originally had the wheezy Pinto 2000 cc engine and 4 speed trans,
so it is much better now. A nice, original, rust-free unit brought up from
the States to save it from the recyclers yard. Sweet vintage aluminum slot
mags, nerf bars, and diamond-tuft package tray finish this Capri off in
classic 70's style! Hope you like it as much as I do!
