Using our projector beam headlights with angel eyes, Bavarian Otto shows how relatively simple it is to remove the stock headlight assemblies on a 3 series 99 thru 05 (E46) and replace them with the new assemblies. This BMW 325i headlights restoration took a doing. These headlights had passed the yellow stage gone through the hazy cloudy stage of oxidation. They were among the worst headlights that we have ever restore. Never the less we were able to give these headlights a new look after our headlight restoration service. Technology: How a bixenon headlight projector works with a quick lights-on demo
Here wee have a quick overview of how a bi-xenon headlight projector works.
A true high performance headlight upgrade involving a bi-xenon projector is vastly different than a "bixenon" plug n play HID kit. Projector systems use a light "cutoff shield" inside to define the shape of their beam pattern. Bixenon projectors have a hinged cutoff shield that will move out of the way when the high beam solenoid is activated, letting more light project through the lens, and creating the high beam.
Demo projectors are a Hella E55 bi-xenon (common in BMW's/Mercedes) and an Acura TL bi-xenon (exclusive to the 04-08 Acura TL's)
This is the same technology found in all modern high end cars from BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Nissan, Acura etc.

One can see on the consumption indicator, that the car is limited to 250km/h ( +x ). The steering unit stops the supply of diesel.

This Video does not not cover M47 and engines before 2001/9. The plug in the DDE is a 40 pin on those models.
You need a lot of tools for this job, but most are common to a DIY man/woman :)
Unlock and TEST your BMW E46 3 Series OBC Hidden Functions DIY
Follow me as I check my Battery Voltage to see if I need a new battery or alternator.
Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:
1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following function s

BMW Projector Headlight Install (E46) - FCP Euro
One of our good friends has started to upgrade his higher mileage 1999 BMW 328i. After much discussion we agreed that the headlights needed to be facelifted to bring some life back into the car. Along with the new projector headlights we also installed an DDE/DRL harness for the angel eyes which we will show install details on in another video.
