ADRL 1/8 mile drag racing - Summit Motorsports Park - Norwalk, OH 9/28/2012. Couldn't plug my ears and record at the same time on the Pro Extreme cars. They're LOUD! 1/8 mile times around 4 seconds and speeds at 200 mph. Still would have preferred old-style gassers. I was probably one of the older guys in this young crowd. The sport may be passing me by. Ha.

Vortech'd '88 Turbocoupe Ep.2
1988 Ford Thunderbird turbocoupe 5.0 swap / 5 speed swap. Me running it trying to figure out why it's breaking up around 5k Vortech 'A' trim Supercharger, 65mm throttle body, ported cobra intake, Edelbrock performer aluminum heads, BBK longtubes to mandrel bent Exhaust. FMS 'E' cam, 1.72 roller rockers, Crane ignition, Autozone shortblock. Hand built instrument cluster, Supercharger plumbing, hand fabbed Exhaust. GT Mustang springs and polished wheels. 3.55 gears and long wheelbase makes for a great long distance cruiser. This started in 2007 when a neighbor stopped over with a beat up black '87 cougar 5.0 with a rod knock. Asked what he wanted the car to be, was told 'basic nice cruiser'. Recommended a Autozone Mustang spec'd reman'd 302, add a set of 1.72 rollers, BBK shorty headers and a speed density Mustang processor with 19lb injectors. That lasted about a month, then the 'I want more' and 'what's next' nagging started. Ended up swapping in the powdercoated Cobra intake and 65mm throttle body. Then in went a Cobra mass air conversion with 24lb injectors, then n went the heads and 'E' cam, then somewhere in there we spent a day in the junk yard grabbing the clutch pedal out of another T-coupe and we swapped in a '93 WC spec T5 and Hurst shifter. Somewhere in there as well the whole Exhaust was changed out to longtubes and hand fabbed mandrel bent 2.5" pipes. About a week after the 5 speed swap in the Cougar he found this '88 Tcoupe fr $500 less brakes. One ice cube relay and it had brakes so two weeks later the Cougar was scrapped and the T-coupe was built. Add gauges, change out the dash and interior for better and here it sits. There's a fully loaded rust free blue '88 T-coupe waiting to get all this stuff put in it now. It never ends...
