Pontiac G8 GT Exhaust Tone Custom - Launches with an amazing rev sound at a green light in Las Vegas, NV. Has great tone all the way down the street, you can hear it long after you can't see it. Black Carbon Fiber Hood on a red body with custom black staggered rims, lowered. Click 2c Launch @ 0:44
The Pontiac G8 GT comes with a 361 hp (269 kW) 6.0 L (364 cu in) Generation IV L76 V8, featuring a 6-speed 6L80 automatic and Active Fuel Management, capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, with quarter-mile times as low as 13.8 seconds. The G8 GT averages a fuel economy of 15/24 mpg (city/highway). A 6-speed manual was formerly being considered as an option on the GT model, but Pontiac dropped the option, stating that it would instead be offered as an option on the G8 GXP. One change in 2009 was the deleting of the center stack oil pressure and voltage gauges. Midway through the 2009 model year a few changes were made to the G8 GT, including an additional pair of catalytic converters which reduced engine output to 355 hp (265 kW), the addition of bluetooth and the removal of the rear cup holders that pulled out from under the rear seats.
In addition to the larger engine and six-speed transmission, GT models also contain additional equipment, including all of the standard Sedan features plus quad tailpipes, clear taillight lenses (as opposed to the Sedan's traditional red taillights), automatic dual-zone air conditioning, a larger center-console display screen, and an 11-speaker Blaupunkt premium audio system with 2 subwoofers, six-disc CD changer, and auxiliary input jack. Some (but not all) of these features are available as options on the base model. A sports package is available on the GT, adding sport metallic pedals, QS4 19" machine-faced aluminum wheels, summer performance tires and a slightly smaller diameter, leather-wrapped Sport steering wheel.
The 2009 model year adds the GXP version powered by a 415 hp (309 kW) 6.2-liter V8 LS3 engine with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission or optional six-speed manual transmission (see above). The GXP is available in all standard G8 colors.
Offering similar equipment levels to the SV6, the Commodore SS uses the 6.0-litre V8 engine and T-56 six-speed manual transmission. The SS is recognisable from its quad Exhaust outlets in place of the SV6 dual outlets. The resulting specification level is much higher than the outgoing minimalist SV8 and only missing a few cosmetic touches of the previous flagship Commodore SS. Since its release, the SS has won two consecutive (2006 and 2007) Bang For Your Bucks awards, a Motor magazine initiative. The judges gave preference to the SS the second-time-round because "the VE Commodore SS really does represent the biggest bang you'll ever get for your bucks like these."
A more upmarket SS, the SS V-Series represents the first time this type of naming has been applied to Holden products. The V-Series naming is reminiscent of the V-badging on selected Cadillac models, another member of the GM family. The badge design on the bootlid bears strong resemblance to the ones used by Cadillac. But whereas Cadillac uses it to signify high-performance versions of its products, Holden V-Series variants boast extra features. The V-Series variants were introduced, largely due to a fully optioned Commodore SS in the VZ range being rather successful. The SS V offers extra luxuries at a similar price point to the preceding SS. Inside, it is recognisable by the metallic look pedals and instruments matched with the exterior colour. Additionally, the entire dashboard can be optioned in a range of loud colours: bright red, orange or black. The SS V exterior is equally adventurous, exhibiting five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels and the option of larger 20-inch wheels: the largest wheels ever fitted to a Holden car.
SS V 60th Anniversary: like the 60th Anniversary Omega-based edition, the SS V pack launched on 1 May 2008. Over the standard production SS V, the anniversary model added 10-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, a high-mounted rear spoiler, chrome exterior door handle highlights and "60th Anniversary" badging and floor mats.
SS V-Series Special Edition: following the 2009 cancellation of Pontiac brand in North America, the Pontiac G8 front-end fascia and other trimmings were fitted to approximately 1,500 Commodore SS Vs. Unveiled at the 2009 Deniliquin ute muster on 2 October, sales began in November. Unlike the G8 which was only offered as a sedan, Holden issued utility, sedan and Sportwagon body variants of the Special Edition. Due to the popularity of the Pontiac-inspired SS V, Holden announced on 14 January 2010 that production would be extended until March 2010.

Drifting in a Camaro at
240mph! The car went sideways right after it crossed the finish line. Josh
did a great job of driving the car again! the day before this run the car
caught on fire at 243mph and at the last Texas Mile the car had both rear
tires go flat at 220mph.

Pontiac G8 GXP sound
Here is a modded Pontiac G8 GXP that I followed for a bit this morning on
the way to Caffeine and Octane. You are able to hear this beast accelerate
away from a few traffic lights, and then accelerate away from the show a
little later on. Always a pleasure to hear one of these awesome LS3-powered
More shots from December's C&O coming up, including an Aventador! ;) Stay
The Loudest Corvette EVER
⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩⇩ All the info on this video can be found here
This is by far the loudest car I've heard today, at the Rally de Paris
2011. It's such a beast, really. Not as loud as the mythical Ferrari Enzo
MIG-U1 by Gemballa, but still... it's worth the hearing, trust me. It's a
Corvette Z05 (Corvette C5) with apparently an apparent engine... I don't
know what's going on there! But this russian car sure is loud! Listen to
that engine sound!!!! American muscle car at its finest!
