O dia 18 de Fevereiro marca a realização da quarta edição do Rali de Barcelos, segunda etapa do Campeonato Open 2012, jornada que promete, uma vez mais, grande animação e disputa pelas principais posições. O Clube Automóvel do Minho conseguiu reunir um apreciável lote de pilotos interessados, para além do Open, no Campeonato Regional de Ralis Norte, Campeonato Júnior, Troféu Nacional de Clássicos e Troféu Modelstand, que começa agora a sua temporada. Depois de vencer a primeira prova do ano, Fernando Peres surge como grande favorito a novo triunfo, mas claro que não irá estar só nesta posição. De facto, há um grupo de pilotos que também surgem como potenciais ocupantes deste lugar. Falamos de Daniel Nunes, Diogo Salvi, João Barros ou André Martins. No entanto, há ainda que contar com Alberto Cabral ou Luis Mota. Em termos de Campeonato Júnior, para já Daniel Nunes, Diogo Gago e Ivan Carquejo ocupam as primeiras posições. Já no Regional Norte, Nunes também lidera, mas André Pimenta e Luis Mota são os seguintes na tabela classificativa. Em termos de Clássicos é Aníbal Rolo o principal favorito. Mas este Rali de Barcelos assinala ainda o arranque do Troféu Modelstand, competição monomarca com os Peugeot 206 GTI. Gil Antunes, João Ruivo e Ivan Carquejo, estão entre os principais nomes presentes. Como novidades em termos de percurso deste Rali de Barcelos, as duas primeiras secções são invertidas em relação ao ano passado, não se disputando o troço de Midões/Chorente. Já a especial de Carvalhal/Pereira será percorrida este ano por duas vezes, enquanto regista-se a entrada da especial de Chorente, que esteve para ser disputada na pista de Autocross em piso de terra, mas que o CAM teve que alterar à última hora. Por fim, Coussorado/Roriz é este ano mais curta, sendo suprimida a parte final que era em terra, terminando agora na freguesia de Oliveira. Este Rali de Barcelos começa com a disputa das especiais Vilar do Monte/Feitos (8,47 km), Aldreu/Durrães (5,47 km) e Coussorado/Roriz (17,36 km). Na segunda secção os concorrentes têm à sua espera duas passagens pelo troço de Carvalhal/Pereira (5,13 km), a abrir e fechar, percorrendo pelo meio uma passagem por Chorente e Courel/Cristelo (11,50 km). Tudo termina com a Super Especial citadina de Barcelos (4,35 km). No total serão percorridos 171,22 quilómetros, 54,38 dos quais cronometrados. www.camminho.com

One of the coolest imports I've had the opportunity to see in action, this extremely streetable 1978 Datsun 280z takes it's first trip to the drag strip to do some testing. The car has an LS1 with heads, cam, and FAST intake manifold putting down around 450 wheel horsepower! Best 1/8 mile time was 7.11 for the night.
