The Not So Nice | Scion FR-S Review | Part 1
SEE THE NEW UPDATED VIDEO PART 2: http://youtu.be/17fo2DT-77U Amazing Comments About Review: "He has no camera presence, a foul mouth, doesn't appear to really excel in automotive knowledge" "Judging by way you present and deliver your arguments, the only cars youve been in is the backseat of your friends as they drive you to and from the 7-11. In order to successfully give a review, you must have some sort of platform to make the reader/viewer think you know what you are talking about." "It is a torture to listen to him speaking, let alone review a car. " "No it just sucks donkey **** even more after that. I want 6 mins of my life back that I wasted staring at this crap." "Nothing to see here, just some balding middle-class suburbanite with a video camera, internet connection and the belief that people care about what he has to say instead of leaving it to the professionals. I'm stunned I sat through the whole thing to be honest." "This guy talks about cars the same way that a man would explain to his wife how he just gave her a VD. "um, well.... uh"

Which is better, manual or automatic transmission? Paddle shift or stick shift? Ending the debate!
http://carlylespicks.com/?p=142 Which is better, manual or automatic transmission? Paddle shift or stick shift? Ending the debate! For the true enthusiast, the clutch pedal and gear stick or shifter are a JOY to use...NOT a burden. Traffic is the one exception but we are talking about the car enthusiast. We drive fr PLEASURE, NOT to get to work or get groceries. So traffic is not an issue when it's 7AM on a Saturday or Sunday and you are headed to your favorite country road. For the enthusiast, the clutch pedal is a PLUS not a minus. It is a critical part of what makes driving a stick shift an art. Automatic is email and manual is a hand written note. A dying art that is much more involved and personal than email. Making a perfect shift, makes me smile like NO paddle shift will EVER do! Manual is a piano played with a live band, automatic is one man with a Casio keyboard in his basement with automatic accompaniment generated by the keyboard. The feeling of playing a complex piece correctly dwarfs any reward of pressing ONE note and having the Casio keyboard play a bunch of chords automatically. Is a paddle shift a manual transmission? Being able to request gears manually does NOT make a transmission automatic. Remember in the automatics from the 80s you had "2" "L" "R"? So automatics have allowed you to "change gears" since the 80s. This is just like modern paddle shifters do. NOTE: A sequential gearbox is NOT the same as the classic automatic gearbox, but the point is, you could ALWAYS select/request gears in automatics. So the ability to SELECT gears does not make it manual. You need the ability to physically disengage the clutch by moving the throw out bearing and also to physically change the actual gears. This is all mechanically done, not electronically. It requires focus, finesse, strength, timing and skill and it's rewarding to do correctly. _________________________________ *Carlyle's Picks - www.carlylespicks.com* Reviews, information and ACTION videos on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays!! Ferrari F12 Berlinetta vs Toyota GT86 - which is more fun?

Scion FR-S Test Drive & Driving Impressions
Experience the new Scion FR-S from the driver's seat. I took a test drive the other day and filmed my impressions so my girlfriend could get a feel for the car. She just got her wisdom teeth taken out and wasn't in any shape to go on a test drive so I came to her rescue and made this video of the experience. Shameless plug: If you're local, around SE Michigan, be sure to ask for Jamar Daniels at Victory Toyota of Canton, MI for information & availability on the Scion FR-S. Had a great experience with him, he was very helpful and generous with his time. Initial impressions: 1. It has four wheels, which seemed very round when I inspected them. 2. Doors with which to enter and leave the car (you don't have to enter through the windows or the top or bottom of the vehicle) 3. While driving the car, there is a round knob (though not as round as the wheels) that controls the wind inside the car. The wind can be a mild breeze, or a vicious tsunami blowing from little holes in the front console. It can be cool or warm, and you can direct the wind. It makes you feel very powerful. 4. There is also another button that lets you listen to people talking and singing in the car, I believe Jamar called this a radio. This device only allows for listening, and is therefore a one-way conversation. I tried talking back to the people in the "radio" and they either couldn't hear me or didn't feel like responding. I imagine they have a lot of people trying to talk to them through the "radio." If you don't have a lot of friends and want someone who never stops talking, this radio device is probably a good thing for you to order. 5. The cloth seats have a red stripe on them. I assume that this is probably from the animal's skin that was used to make them. The red stripe tells me that the animal was fierce and vicious, trying to warn its predators of it's danger with a warning color, much like bees and the yellow jackets they wear. However, it mustn't have been a match for the Scion hunters, as I hear many FR-S's are filled with seats made from this red-striped animal. In short, the FR-S makes me feel like an ancient hunting warrior that can control wind, talk to spirits, and chase down fast dangerous animals. Enjoy the video, I hope you find it helpful in your quest of filling the empty void in your heart with a lightweight rear wheel drive sports coupe.

FR-S Owner Drives My BRZ! Why He Chose the FR-S!
I tossed the keys of my BRZ to a friend of mine that owns a Scion FR-S. In this video he'll give you his impressions of the BRZ and why he likes his FR-S better. After this video he also added "I bought the FR-S as a simple, cheap, lightweight rear wheel drive sports car and the things I didn't like about the BRZ (aside from the aesthetics) were things I found to be at odds with what I see as the main goal of the car."
