1969 AMX (SS/AMX) sounds tuff, at the Mopar Nationals, IN, 1997
We are at the Mopar Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. The AMC cars had an
invite to the show. Jeff Kennedy and myself volunteer our time to help out
with the parking as members of the AMO. A fine sounding SS AMX pulls into
park on the show field. There where only 53 of these cars built for racing
only. 8-1997. tHANKS FOR WATCHING

The Unfortunate History of the AMC Pacer
Behind all the jokes and insults, the AMC Pacer is actually a car with a
great deal of history. It began as radical new design from an underdog
company. In an attempt to combat the big, bland, boxy cars from Detroit's
"Big Three," little American Motors Corporation decided to build something
a little different. Their one-eyed car stylist Dick Teague proposed a
small, wide car with big windows and smooth areodynamics. Americans had
never seen anything like it.
This in-depth documentary tells the true story of the Pacer. Unbeknownst
to many, the car persevered through manufacturing setbacks, government
regulations, and many other troubles. Featuring a ton of old car
advertisements and rare footage of AMC's factory, the film helps paint a
picture of the Pacer's world. Director Joe Ligo sits down with AMC stylist
Vincent Geraci, author Patrick Foster, and television personalities John
Davis and Pat Goss from PBS's MotorWeek.

Muscle Car Of The Week Video #71: 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler
http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - The American Motors Corporation was
known for building reliable, lower-priced cars targeted towards families
and those seeking basic transportation. But when you combine a
lightweight economy car with a potent V8, you have the recipe for an
outstanding performer. This was the case with the 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler,
a car built in conjunction with Hurst Performance to be a drag strip terror
and look cool doing it! The SC/Rambler boasted a 315 HP 390 cube V8, a
T10 4-speed, 3.54:1 gears, and other performance tricks like a complete
lack of options, subframe connectors, rolled fender lips, staggered shocks,
and Thrush mufflers. This little Super Car rocked and advertised 14.2 in
the quarter @ 100+ mph, all for less than $3000.00. Quite a package.
