Just a video to show how easy it is to access the secret OBC on a BMW E46 and to show the digital RPM readout along with my vehicle's redline in 1st gear.
Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:
1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position or hold when car is on
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following functions below:

I wanted to share this video with all you who wants to retrofit a stearing wheel with cruise control. Follow the steps and you should be able to DIY.
This Video does not not cover M47 and engines before 2001/9. The plug in the DDE is a 40 pin on those models.
You need a lot of tools for this job, but most are common to a DIY man/woman :)
How to program / setup a new BMW E46 key fob 330 325

A brief how to on setting up a new BMW key. This was done on a 2001 E46 coupe 330ci.
Steps:
1) Insert new key.
2) Turn to the #1 position and back five times.
3) Remove key
4) Press and hold the unlock button on the key
5) While holding the unlock button, press the lock button three times.
Once these steps are done, the car should lock and unlock the doors a few times to let you know you were successful.
Once this is done, you can start the car and use the key as usual.

The result of a discussion, how fast a series E46 330d can go.
The car reached a speed of 256 (GPS ).
One can see on the consumption indicator, that the car is limited to 250km/h ( +x ). The steering unit stops the supply of diesel.

Bmw E46 oil level sender and Winter tune up
if your suffering from a yellow oil light shortly after starting your bmw e46 the briefly stays on for about 10 seconds or so there is a good chance that your oil level sender is gone bad. in order to change the sensor you need to drain oil so a good time is obviously when you do a oil change. other things i did was change the air filter, replaced the chipped water pump pulley and tried to find out why I get a secondary low air code.

It's rewarding to do work on your own M3 and Oil Changes are one of the easiest things you can do. I hope my comprehensive DIY instructions can give you the confidence needed to do your own oil change.

Sorry we didn't film the relocation into the AC Controls slot. It's a direct fit on other cars and almost a direct fit on E46, but if you want it to be 100% factory you'll need a climate control trim piece available from the dealer. In this install we did not use the factory piece and it worked quit well. e46 is the only model that uses the OEM part and it's 51-16-7-001-408.
