2006 350z auto vs 2002 e39 540i 6 speed dig
Me and my buddy seeing how my 540i reacted to the recent mods of M60 high
flow manifold and straight pipes cat back to a magnaflow #14834. Before
mods the Z would catch up around the end of 2nd gear at 60-65 and I would
be looking over at his quarter panel all the way to 130mph. He has ahad the
same mods all along of stillen Exhaust, plenum spacer, and pop charger. Good to
see my mods have done good! There is another vid of us going from a 20 roll
where we pull dead even all the way to 110mph. This vid we also get up to
around 110-115mph. Was a great drive down to mexico to do the runs...

first time on track, ran 13.51 @ 98.7mph on the old clutch and not tuned
soon will run again with better numbers since it will be tuned and new
stage3 clutch is already in!

E92 335i vs. E60 550i vs. E39 540i on german Autobahn
Sunday, sunset and no speedlimit! what else do you need to compare two
generations of BMWs V8 Beamer? a referee!
Compared a stock E60 550i SMG Steptronic (367PS) to an E39 540i (M62B44TU)
6speed manual with modified ECU (310PS), M5 3.15 LSD Differential, M5
Brakes, M5 Suspension, M5 Dashboard.
Suddenly we ran into an E92 335i (seemed to be stock 306ps) so we had a
chance to compare the three cars to each other. The 550i was fastest,
followed by 335i which was faster
from 230-250 then the 540i which has a bottleneck in form of a flowlimited
intake manifold. This will be changed, a new comparisson will come soon.
But this time on a rented airfiled for safety reasons. And more cars to
compare it to.
Recorded by two GoPro HD Heros in 1080p mode, one attached to the
rearwindow of the E60 550i, the other was used with a headstrapmount. The
missing LCD videoscreen caused some unusable shots. It is difficult to see
the real performancevariance between the cars, as we weren´t allways on
full throttle. It also made a big difference who stepped on the gaspedal
first. One or two seconds earlier and a 540i is head on with a E60 550i
from 100-240. By hitting the accelerator 1-2 seconds too late, a 335i and
550i smoke a 540i. So don´t get fooled ;)
All cars were limited to 250km/h.
