MINI Cooper Prototype Preview 1997
Media preview of the new MINI on the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1997. Almost a hoax as it was a "skin prototype" based on the modified platform, engine and running gear of a Fiat Punto! It successfully diverted publicity from the arrival of the new Mercedes A-Class and Smart cars.This news clip includes an interview with the late John Cooper.





CSCC Special Saloon + Modsports 2014 - Oulton Park extended highlights
The Classic Sports Car Club`s `Special Saloon + Modsports` series concluded its 2014 season with 2 races at Oulton Park. The first time the series has visited the famous Cheshire circuit. Both races were won by Paul Sibley in his class C Lotus Elan . Andy Southcott had suprised many by setting pole in his MG Midget on his series debut but problems caused him to just a few race laps in the end. Behind Sibley were some greeat close racing between the Peugeot 309-Cosworth of the Morris brothers , Steven Moss ( spaceframe Anglia ) and the Thundersaloon winning Vauxhall Carlton of Pete Stevens. Mini MPI Launch 1997
Launch preview at BMH Gaydon, of the upgraded Mini MPI (Multi Point Injection) range for 1997 with drivers airbag, seatbelt pre-tensioners, door side impact bars and front mounted radiator. Despite Rover's original plan to end Mini production in 1997 due to new European safety and emmisions legislation, BMW's new investment in the Mini and John Cooper's insistence on this last update finally got the MPI into production in 1996, extending the Mini's life by 4 more years until the launch of the New MINI in 2001.





1971 Saloon car championship "PART 1"
This is the "Osram saloon car championship" part of the "Iberia Trophy - 1971". The race took place on 11-09-1971, at the now gone circuit of "Crystal Palace". Cars include Camero, Viva HB GT, Escort RS1600, Mini Cooper's etc.. Big names such as the late "Gerry Marshall".. Enjoy the time warp with "Murray Walker" on commentary
