2013 Infiniti FX50 Test Drive & Luxury Crossover Video Review

http://www.autobytel.com/infiniti/fx50/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Infiniti FX50 is the top of the line when it comes to luxury crossovers from Japan. The FX50 and FX37 have been around for a number of years and these 2 vehicles are differentiated by their engines. The FX50 has a 5.0 liter V-8 engine making 390 horsepower while the FX37 is powered by a 3.7 liter V-6 making 325 horsepower. The 2013 Infiniti FX50 has a base price of $61,400. Another big element to these sporty luxury crossovers is the styling. The Infiniti FX has always had a love it or leave it presence due to its aggressive and bold exterior design. On the inside the FX50 has good functionality and utility. The cargo room is adequate and the rear lift gate is automatically controlled. The interior space in the rear may be a bit small but this vehicle is a crossover and not a large SUV. The interior features tons of luxury amenities. The seats are leather and the trim is a lovely maple wood. The technology on the Infiniti is cutting edge with tons of safety equipment like: around view monitor, distance control technology, and intelligent brake assist to name a few. The sound system is also a top notch BOSE unit. This is a high end luxury car and you will get treated like royalty by your Infiniti dealer. Driving the 2013 Infiniti FX50 is impressive. This luxury crossover can go from 0-60 MPH in a little over 5 seconds which is amazing. The steering is tight and the suspension firm which makes for a wonderfully agile vehicle. 2013 SRT Viper WalkAround Sports Car Video Review w/ Mark Trostle MOPAR SEMA Show Car
http://www.autobytel.com Autobytel was recently invited to a special showing of Mopar's SEMA cars at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA where we were lucky enough to get Mark Trostle, Head of SRT, Viper, Mopar and Motorsports Design to give us a quick walkaround of the all new 2013 SRT Viper. Powered by a 640 HP 8.4 Liter V10 and weighing in at under 3500 lbs the all new Viper is a 200 MPH beast, and is even better when dressed up with a host of Mopar goodies like a carbon fiber X-Brace, high speed down force kit and bespoke racing harness to make it the all out track machine that Chrysler intended. Mark tells us: "When we set out to do the new Viper we really wanted to make sure it retained the iconic flavor and character of the original Viper. You look at a lot of cars in the industry, and many of them are not as recognizable as the Viper. The Jeep Wrangler though is an example of a vehicle that is very recognizable. We wanted to make sure we held true to its roots but we did want a more voluptuous flavor of the surfacing. We have also gone back to a full clamshell hood where the whole front of the car opens up. There is something kind of heroic about that and the proportions of the car and the car in general. It really is a great car. We focused on making everything on the vehicle functional and beautiful. The new Viper has a top speed of over 200 MPH so you can image we spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel refining the surfaces. Up front there is something called an air curtain which is an inlet in the front bumper that is open to the wheelhouse inner which helps with both down force and brake cooling. On the hood, every little flick in front of each vent helps control air so that the car actually Exhausts the hot air out of the engine bay. The hood scoop feeds fresh cool air into the intake box. Everything is functional including the blisters on the roof which give the driver and passenger enough headroom to wear a helmet. One of the other iconic parts of the Viper is what we call the gill. That is an identifier of Viper that we have had since the 1992 model. Obviously the shape has been evolved but this is still one of the great Viper cues." "The 640 horsepower V-10 Engine puts out 600 lb-ft. of torque making is a blast to drive. The Viper now has launch control and traction control which lets the customers use all the potential of the engine to its fullest. Mopar had a hand in some of the accessories on the SRT Viper including an X-Brace that is made entirely from carbon and weights half of what the stock aluminum piece weights. The X-Brace helps control the chassis flex on the body making the car handle that much better on the racetrack. We have developed aluminum and carbon fiber valve covers and aluminum oil fill cap. If you notice even all the logos are decals instead of a hard badge in an effort to remove weight. The heroic clamshell hood is great for being able to show off the engine." "Moving to the rear of the car, the Mopar carbon fiber wing is another piece that has been developed to increase down force alongside the front splitter. This full carbon fiber piece can generate 300 lbs. of down force at 150 MPH. or 500 lbs. at top speed. It's a beautiful and functional piece. On the inside, we have developed with Mopar aluminum and carbon shift knob, racing harness, seat set, and carbon fiber satchel with a GoPro camera mount since a lot of customers like to take their cars to the track. Formula Ford EcoBoost 1.0 Liter Street Legal Road Race Car @ SEMA
http://www.autobytel.com/ford Autobytel recently caught up with Michael Norton, the head of Ford Racing Europe, at the 2012 SEMA show to talk about Ford's Street Legal EcoBoost Formula Ford road car. Don't let the racecar look fool you, because this thing is street legal. As the Motorsports Manager for Ford, Mr. Norton has lots of inside knowledge on making blue ovals go fast, and he was more than happy to share some thoughts on the extremely efficient exercise in design. The Formula Ford EcoBoost Roadcar that was on display in Las Vegas has been fitted with a little 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine. The purpose of this is to show the performance and economy from a small 3-cylinder engine. Although this engine is not available here in the U.S. it is standard on many cars in the U.K. including the Fiesta, Focus, and C-Max. The 1.0 liter engine is part of a bigger EcoBoost engine family. This car was specially built for a Media Event at Germany's Nürburgring. A lap time of 7:22 was set by Formula Ford driver Nick Tandy which is the 11th fastest times to be seen around Nordschleife beating out Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, and all sorts of cars. This goes to show the true potential of this small 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine. This Formula Ford car was specifically designed to be road legal. Ford Motorsports spent the whole summer working with the proper U.K. government so that the car would be SVA (single vehicle approval) legal. This car has everything need to pass including mud guards, lights, horn, handbrake, and other parts to make it road legal in the U.K. See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/ Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

Scion Racing FR-S Tuner Challenge Cars @ SEMA w/ Ken Gushi
http://www.autobytel.com/new-cars/scion/?id=32972 Autobytel caught up with Scion Racing driver/drifter Ken Gushi at the 2012 SEMA show for a little inside look at the Scion display. Not only did Scion win the hottest sport compact car award at SEMA, but Scion played host to a select group of the front engine rear drive tuner cars competing in the Scion Tuner Challenge. This is a huge testament to the brand and especially to the popularity of the Scion FR-S car. The Tuner Challenge cars all came out great and each builder had their own ideas and tastes that were applied to the individual cars. The Carbon Stealth FR-S, FR-S GT and minty FReSh have quickly become crowd favorites. But it's the bold bodied race inspired FR-S GT and Evasive Motorsport versions that catch Ken's eye. 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/volkswagen/jetta-hybrid/2013/?id=32972 Back when gasoline only cost twenty five cents per gallon we weren't concerned with crazy ideas like alternative fueled vehicles, however with gas prices on the seemingly never ending rise, cars like the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid are making a comeback. Volkswagen as a brand was been built on practicality as well as innovation, and the 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid is no exception, especially when you take into consideration that the hybrid powered gas/electric commuter starts at only $24,995. What we have here is the first ever turbocharged hybrid. The power plant consists of a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor to produce 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. of torque. The Jetta Hybrid has the ability to operate in pure EV mode for up to a mile at speeds under 44 MPH. Volkswagen has incorporated advanced lithium ion technology into their battery packs which are located in the trunk. Some storage space has to be sacrificed but you will no doubt love the resulting fuel economy which should be about 45 MPG. Volkswagen has made some improvements to the exterior of the Jetta Hybrid in the name of aerodynamics that brings the drag coefficient down from 0.3 to 0.28. When you look at other hybrids, their transmission is most often a CVT which takes the fun out of driving. But the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid gets a 7-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission that is simply amazing. The Jetta Hybrid is the car for the enthusiast out there who wants something other than the bland Prius. From a driving dynamics stand point, Volkswagen aimed to make this car the best driving hybrid on the market and they have succeeded. Volkswagen has moved the bar higher on compact sedans with the 2013 Jetta Hybrid. Infiniti QX70 SUV (Infiniti FX) - CarBuyer
Infiniti QX70 SUV 2014 review: http://bit.ly/1lxgI4F Subscribe to the Carbuyer YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/17k4fct Subscribe to Auto Express: http://subscribe.autoexpress.co.uk/cb There is no slow FX in the line-up, with huge petrol and diesel engines being the order of the day. Both petrol models boast 0-62mph times under 7 seconds, with the quickest even dipping under the six second barrier. A stiff set-up means it corners well too but it's worth taking a test drive to see if the ride is soft enough to live with on a daily basis. So naturally we couldn't help but wonder if it's the ultimate ski car to take up to the top of Colorado's Loveland 12,000 foot Pass? It has everything you would want in the ultimate ski car except perhaps one small thing and that would be a turbo to help the engine breath better at altitude. So how does the 2012 Infiniti FX50 S drive and handle up one of Colorado's highest mountain passes? Check out this first drive video review to find out.

2013 Infiniti FX37
The sporty Infiniti FX just got sportier for 2013 as the luxury crossover — now called the FX37 — gets a more powerful 325-horsepower V-6 along with improved fuel economy. Cars.com reviewer Mike Hanley says what's most notable is how the low-slung FX37 punches up the driving experience without sacrificing utility. Can you overlook some subpar cabin features and limited visibility? Watch the video and decide.
