At the end of Friday's program teh nostalgia cars had their test runs.
First, Bob Glassup with his "Xtreme" Fiat Fuel Altered.
And man, I can't remember having seen such a "drift-burnout" on the Quartermile since 1989....
WFAN11 - World Fuel Altered Nationals 2011
The 2011 World Fuel Altered Nationals in Eddyville, Iowa was yet again
another successful annual event with organizer Scott Gaulter (owner of the
Nitro Madness machine) doing an amazing job once again. I bring some of the
craziest fuel altereds in the Midwest to the event, including Nitro
Madness, Sundown, Harold Thompson Jr, Purple Haze, Cheaper Than Therapy,
and Sudden Debt!
AA/FA Top Fuel Altereds, jet cars, doorslammers! Nostalgia drags, Sept 2007 - Calgary, AB

Calgary AB, Sept 2007.
Old School cars at their best! AA/FA Top Fuel Altereds, front engine
Top-fuel, a real cacklefest. Bradford's, Rat Trap, Nasty Benjamin and
Nanook. Watch the insane Nanook vs jet car race, just a little squirrely.
Lots of other cars too. TA rails, Pro-mods, Super-Gas, Super-Pro, drag
bikes, some nice ET cars and one particularly fearsome 7-second blown 1962
Chevy Nova... oh yeah... and a jet car (5.94 sec 268.97 MPH pass).

"The Big Block Chevy Experiment"
What would happen if you took a 460 BBC out of a Camaro that ran 10.60s and
dropped it into an altered? The test vehicle is Matsuda Racing's '48 Fiat
Topolino altered (normally powered by a blown alcohol small block Chevy).

First test-fire of the Nitro-burning PACERS "Tasmanian Devil" AA / Fuel Altered
50 years ago, CHARLIE DODGE and GEORGE SNIZEK, Conceived, Constructed, and
Raced, what became known as one of the Fastest and Most Beautiful Fuel
Altereds in drag racing.
Wherever they went, The "TASMANIAN DEVIL" roadster running out of their
"PACERS AUTOMOTIVE" shop on Long Island, set speed records and took home
best appearing awards. It quickly became a crowd favorite as well as a
feared competitor and event winner at drag strips nationwide.
45 years later, a group of former Top Fuel drivers from Long Island got
together and recreated this Icon of Speed.
In just SIX months time, ROY MILLER, BILLY LYNCH, BERNIE SHACKER, DENNIS
QUITONI, Pacers' Original driver, GEORGE SNIZEK, and George's son, SCOTT,
have built a stunning, authentic recreation of The Pacers original altered
which returns us all back to the drag strip in the middle of the 1960's.
The video marks the first test-fire of its Nitro-burning engine outside
Billy Lynch's Atlantic Auto in Huntington Station on Long Island and the
beginning of a whole new chapter in the cars' history.
