Fun lap during a trackday with my M3 GTS and a orange Porsche GT3RS.
The car is a bit wobbly at this videoclip, meanwhile we improved the
setting of the car (except brake pads still OEM). At this point it was
still out of shape. It would also be nice if there would fit more tyres
(Trofeo, Cup of slicks perhaps), but unfortunately only Pirelli and Dunlop
make tyres for this car....

Porsche's new 981 Boxster is an all-new design. Bigger, but lighter than
before. We went to the launch event in the South of France to see how good
it was. And whether a man can now buy the girl's Porsche.

Boxster S marks the 3rd generation for this mid-engine roadster. This
little convertible sports car not only looks great, but it also performs
better than anything else in the class. When most car companies launch a
new model they pick some posh location. Porsche decided to show off the new
2013 Boxster S by introducing the roadster at the Barber Motorsports Park
where journalists would have the opportunity to test the car on both the
track and the autocross course. The base price for the new Boxster S starts
The Porsche Boxster has a mid-engine design meaning the motor sits
somewhere between the front and rear axels. In this case the engine is
right behind the drive. This allows for favorable weight distribution and
more traction to the rear tires resulting in a better performing
automobile. The 2013 Porsche Boxster base model is powered by a 2.7 liter
6-cylinder engine. The S model tested here has a larger displacement engine
at 3.4 liters. This results in more power with the 2013 Boxster S making
315 horsepower and
266 lb-ft. f torque. This may not sound like much but the Boxster S is a
very light weight car at just under 3000 lbs. Transmission choices come
down to a 6-speed manual or high-tech PDK 7-speed automatic. Performance
figures are 0-60 MPH in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 172 MPH.
At the end of the day the Boxster is still a convertible and for this 2013
model Porsche made great strides to improve the automatic retractable top.
With one push of a button the top retracts in only 9 seconds plus you can
put the top down while driving. On the inside the stylish red leather
package looks like it belongs in a high end exotic car. The trim pieces are
perfectly integrated silver pieces. The 7-inch touch screen navigation unit
and BOSE surround sound system are more than enough for the techie out
there. Of course the 2013 Porsche Boxster S comes packed with tons of
luxury features and amenities on top of everything you would expect in a
luxury sports car.
Porsche has done a lot to improve the fuel economy of the Boxster since
more and more car buyers are looking into fuel efficient vehicles. The
chassis has been lightened thanks to a combination of metals like aluminum.
The PDK 7-speed transmission not only performs spectacularly but it also is
very fuel efficient. New for this model is an Auto Start/Stop function
which turns the car off while sitting stopped. This increases fuel economy
by a few MPG. Coast Technology lowers the engine RPM's while at highway
speed resulting in more gas savings. Fuel economy figures are estimated to
be at 21 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway which is awesome for a
car that can accelerate so quickly.

The GT3RS I am passing was still on cold tires and was taking it easy it
later passed me like a bat out of hell.
