1955 FORD CROWN VICTORIA - THE "BASKET HANDLE" ROOF BAND MODEL
Ford created an experimental car of the future called the Mystere. The '55 Crown Vic would borrow some of those design cues including the stainless steel wrapover roof band sometimes referred to as the " basket handle", or the tiara. The '55 model was a complete makeover in design which had the Crown Vic at the top followed by Victoria, Sunliner convertible, station wagons, Fairlane, Customline, and lastly the Mainline. There were 3 engines available for any model of Ford. These were the L-head 6, 223 cid, 120 hp., V8, 272 cid, 162 hp., and a V8, 272 cid, 182 hp. The Crown Vic came with or without a Plexiglas roof insert but only 1,999 were built vs. 33,165 Vics with standard steel roof. The Plexiglass Vic costs $2,272 and the standard roof cost $2,202. The new design caused sales to increase to levels not seen at Ford since 1923. This Crown Vic is just spendidly restored in it's red and white 2-tone color scheme seen inside as well as out. The engine compartment - you could eat off of it, the fender skirts, arm rest, speedometer window on top to view with sunlight shining through and the basket handle crown are all features that make this particular Vic a truly beautiful car. Look this over and I'm sure you'll agree that mid-fifties Ford products are in a field all by themselves. Thanks very much for viewing this 1955 Ford Crown Victoria hardtop.

1956 Ford Sunliner Convertible BluWht
Beautiful condition...292 c.i. Thunderbird V8, continental kit in the back, Fordomatic...what a great cruiser! Looks absolutely factory fresh! Ford introduced safety equipment this year, most of which was optional. The deep dish steeringwheel and door locks were standard, but the padded dash, padded visors and seatbelts were options. Those options were not a dramatic success..safety didn't sell at that point.

1956 Ford Crown Victoria Blu/Wh
Great car, great paint and two tone color combination. The trim on the side facilitates this imaginative use of color. The decorative chrome trim over the top of the car mirrored on the inside was an interesting styling touch. The interior piece was painted trim color...the original would have been chrome. The dash had changed markedly from the 1955 model, and now a padded dash was optional.

This is the original crown featured in the Ray Miller Bible "The Nifty Fifties" on pages 213-216. Now in the hands of a Melbourne collector the former Californian crown rarely sees the light of day.The owner has the original bill of sale from Mr Howard Lampke. complete with the plastic still on the seats , she is a real show stopper. I was told by the current owner that the rear cattle guards were removed because they were actually 54 ones, and the antennas....

When I met him, he was wearing a jacket with the year, make and model of every car he had ever owned embroidered on the sleeves…. and the sleeves were close to full! He purchased this beautiful Crown Victoria about a year ago. He put the power front disc conversion kit on it, power rack and pinion steering and all new bushings in the front end. The one thing he wanted to do to this car, which he did not, was add air conditioning. The paint, chrome and interior are beautiful! 1950 Ford Crestliner Convertible Classic Muscle Car for Sale in MI Vanguard Motor Sales
http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! Looking to kick the summer off in a super sharp cruiser that you can display at local car shows and parade down Main Street? You could always buy a nice Chevrolet like everyone else, you could find a cool old Dodge and raise a few eyebrows, or you can call Vanguard Motor Sales and snatch up this unique 1950 Ford Crestliner convertible! It packs a stout flathead V8 in a stunningly clean, restored steel body. If you're looking for a weekend warrior that'll draw big crowds and big compliments wherever it goes, this impressive '50 Ford is the incredible value you've been waiting for! This striking Crestliner is a solid classic that's been very well cared for. The light yellow paint is beautifully laid over a solid straight metal body. The chrome is absolutely stunning and the stainless is superb. Check out that hood ornament, I don't think I have ever seen one like it before. I really can't describe how nice this car is, you will just have to see it in person. The power convertible top is in 'like-new' condition, and the boot snaps on without any effort. This isn't one of those boots that takes two people and a lot of muscle to stretch to fit. The doors open and close without any effort at all, the gaps, margins and lips are clean and rust free. This is one beautiful piece of American history. The car's reliable flathead V8 engine looks good and runs great. Its engine bay is nicely painted, from the inner fenders, to the firewall and the underside of the hood. The very original motor compartment includes all of the heat components including the heater motor, duct work and lines. The hydraulic pump for the power top works great, and is very rare to find in these cars. You will also find the 6 volt battery and generator. The rebuilt radiator has been re-cored as well. This is one original '50 Ford under the hood, and just beautiful! Take one look underneath this stunning drop top and you'll find a solid X-frame undercarriage which has been properly maintained for the last 62 years. The underside of the vehicle has been undercoated. There is no rust to be found under here. The rockers are solid, showing no patch work. Motivation is provided by a sturdy 3-on-the-Tree transmission. This is a very original undercarriage, including the Exhaust, rear end and drum brakes. Newer brake lines and Glass Pack mufflers can be found out back. The front suspension has been nicely painted, and the bushings are in good shape. The bottom of this Crestliner presents very well with solid floors, a straight frame that shows no indication of damage, and a slew of road ready parts that all function just as they should. Pop this cool convertible's doors and you'll find a tasteful and comfortable custom interior. In front of the driver is the beautiful steering wheel and central speedometer/gauge combination. Starting at the left side of that speedo, you will find the push button starter, lights and wiper controls. Just underneath the base of the steering wheel are the air and blower controls. At the right of the gauge cluster is the key hole and choke. The Magic Air system controls are just below the key hole and choke. The control for the power top is next to the parking brake handle. Centered in the dash is an analog clock and AM radio, and to the right is the locking glove box. The carpet and upholstery are in great condition as well. Out back is a nicely restored trunk with a large storage area and spare tire. This is a convertible made for cruisin'! This exceptionally clean 1950 Ford Crestliner is one of the coolest cruisers on the planet! It is a unique hot rod that sets itself apart from the sea of restored 'tri-fives' and full-size land yachts. Solid, well-done early 50s metal like this doesn't come along too often, and given the attention it draws in our showroom, it won't last long either!
