2012 Camaro ZL1 Exhaust Note

Amazing sound coming from the new Camaro ZL1 585 horses LSA engine. In Florida just rev and idle, followed by some Supercharger noise. Sorry in advance for me freaking out. Supercharger starts rev at like 1:28

RRonTV: The new Chevrolet CAMARO SS Convertible
from Wikipedia: The Camaro received a complete redesign, and new platform for the 2010 model year/fifth generation. Based on the 2006 Camaro Concept and 2007 Camaro Convertible Concept, production of the fifth-generation Camaro was approved on 10 August 2006. The Oshawa Car Assembly plant in the city of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada began producing the new Camaro which went on sale in spring of 2009 as a 2010 model year vehicle. Following the development of the Zeta architecture and because of its position as the GM global center of RWD development, GM Holden in Australia led the final design, engineering, and development of the Camaro. Production of the coupé began on March 16, 2009, in LS, LT, and SS trim levels. LS and LT models are powered by a 3.6 L (220 cu in) V6 producing 312 hp for the 2010 & 2011 model mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with manual shift. The SS is powered by the 6.2 L (376 cu in) LS3 V8 producing 426 hp (318 kW) and is paired with a 6-speed manual. The automatic SS gets the L99 V8 with 400 hp (300 kW). The RS appearance package is available on both the LT and SS and features 20-inch wheels with a darker gray tone, halo rings around xenon headlamps, a unique spoiler, and red RS or SS badges. On April 1, 2010, the Camaro was named the World Car Design of the Year at the World Car of the Year Awards. In late January 2011, the production of 2011 Camaro Convertibles started. The first going to Rick Hendrick via Barret-Jackson Car Auction. Convertibles had the same options as the coupé (engines, RS, SS, etc.). The Camaro Convertible features an aluminium brace over the engine assembly, and under the transmission. Due to the 2011 Fukushima earthquake, certain pigment colors were not available to make certain colors for both the coupé and convertible. On November 2011, the export version (excluding Japanese version) of the Camaro was introduced after a two-year delay. The delay was due to the unexpected high demand and strained production capacity. The export version included different tail lamps with integrated reverse and amber turn signal lamps, larger external rear view mirrors with integrated side turn signal repeaters, "cleaner" rear bumper appearance (without reverse light inserts), and other changes as to comply with ECE regulations. The 2012 model year marked the 45th anniversary of the Camaro and commemorated with a model available only in "Carbon Flash" paint. The V6 was updated to a 3.6 L "LFX" engine producing 323 hp (241 kW). The SS model received an upgrade to the suspension system. All models received the RS spoiler and taillight details, wheel-mounted volume and radio controls, and Bluetooth connectivity controls as standard. The 2012 ZL1 Camaro included a 6.2 L LSA supercharged V8 producing 580 hp (430 kW). The LSA motor is the same used in the Cadillac CTS-V and makes it the fastest production Camaro ever produced. Other features included 2-stage Exhaust, the addition of suede seats, steering wheel, and shift knob, as well as ZL1-exclusive 20" aluminum wheels. In 2012 Chevrolet unveiled the production of the 2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible. On December 19, 2012 GM announced the production of the Camaro would be shifted to a plant in Michigan, citing "lower capital investment and improved production efficiencies were key factors" in the move. This move is expected to start in late 2015 or early 2016. Top Gear Camaro

2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Drive & Review: The Fastest Daily Driver Ever
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2012 Camaro ZL1 is the fastest and most powerful production Camaro ever built by Chevrolet. But you probably already knew that. What you might not know is that this almost 600 horsepower car is really a pussy cat to drive. In fact if it got better gas mileage you could easily use it as a daily commuter. It is that easy and relaxed to drive even though under the hood is the supercharged beating heart out of the Cadillac CTS-V. In this review we get to know the fastest production Camaro that GM has ever built by spending a week with it and using it as a daily driver.

"Refined Horsepower" Describes Chevrolet Performance's Supercharged LSA Engine
Refined horsepower best describes the supercharged 6.2L LSA engine that is standard in the Cadillac CTS-V and the ZL1 Camaro! It is smooth, quiet, and well-balanced -- all the while delivering breathtaking power when you need it. The baby brother to the monster LS9 used in the ZR1 Corvette, the LSA may be the best value, on a dollar-to-horsepower basis in the Chevrolet Performance LS-based portfolio. Although it has the same displacement as our 6.2L LS3, the LSA has a unique, extra-strength cylinder block to accommodate the extra horsepower generated by the Supercharger. The LSA uses a forged steel crankshaft, along with piston-cooling oil jets and high-flow cylinder heads under its inter-cooled Supercharger to produce 556 hp at 6100 rpm and a whopping 551 lb/ft of torque at 3800 rpm. The compact design 1.9L Supercharger incorporates an integrated water fed inter-cooler to assist the four-lobe, high-twist rotors in packing the rectangular port aluminum heads with a denser air/fuel charge. The LSA has a conventional wet sump lubrication system. Chevrolet Performance's lightweight all-aluminum LSA 6.2L supercharged engine package comes complete from Supercharger to oil pan, including water pump and individual coil ignition system. LSA Powered 1969 Camaro "Lou's Change" Engine Install Video V8TV
http://www.v8tvshow.com - In this chapter of the Lou's Change 1969 Camaro build, the V8 Speed and Resto shop crew is installing the LSA Engine into the Detroit Speed subframe, and then the subframe to the car. The challenges included making sure the ZL-1 Supercharger hat would fit under the stock hood, and then how to fit the air conditioning compressor on the engine, as the DSE subframe requires a high-mount compressor. The LSA does not. The Detroit speed headers left plenty of room, but our crew needed to fabricate some brackets and notch the subframe. We also installed a Jones Racing Products steering reservoir for a dual power steering return line set up as needed by the Hydratech hydraulic brake Booster. A Holley LS engine swap oil pan is being used for better ground clearance.

2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 vs. Mark Stielow's Red Devil '69 Camaro - HOT ROD Unlimited Episode 13
On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, David Freiburger meets up with Pro Touring legend Mark Stielow to compare old and new Camaros head to head. Mark Stielow is a GM engineer with a long history of building vintage, street-worthy Camaros with amazing handling prowess. His latest is the Red Devil, a '69 model powered by a 427ci, supercharged LS9 that tops 750 hp and 800 lb-ft. It runs a six-speed trans and complete suspension from Detroit Speed, and has won a number of shootouts with similarly built Pro Touring cars. But can his modified muscle car outrun the technology of the Magnetic Ride suspension on the new, 580hp, 2012 Camaro ZL1? We head to GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan to find out. 133072 / 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/7d9m4es With the launch of the 2012 Camaro ZL1 just around the corner, SEMA 2011 featured tons of amazing Camaros built by some of the best shops in the country. Among them was this 2011 Camaro RS/SS that took fifth gen performance to another level. Built by Source Interlink Media, parent company of Motor Trend and Automobile magazine, industry leaders such as the GM Performance Division, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and Pedders Suspension helped make this 800hp monster a reality. Like most of our late model cars, this Camaro is absolutely dealer fresh. Covered in Summit White paint with Inferno Orange racing stripes, there isn't a dent or scratch to found on the body. From the HID headlights to the RS-exclusive quad taillights, all trim and brightwork remains exactly how it left the assembly plant. Only a small SS badge about the right taillight hints at the destructive forces under the hood. Lift the hood and you'll be greeted by the massive 7.0L LS7. This one was assembled by Thomson Engineering who is famous for cranking these engines to 11. Inside that block, an upgraded cam, forged steel crank, forged I-beam rods and forged-aluminum coated pistons form the basis of this beast. At the sides, upgraded LS9 heads are hidden under the valve covers and coil packs. Up top, a LS9 TVS positive-displacement blower with an integrated liquid-to-air charge cooler sucks air through a 90mm throttle body. Underneath this fifth gen, a Rockland Standard Gear TranZilla 6-speed rated to handle over 1200hp. Power flows from the transmission to a NASCAR style rear end packing 3.73 gears. Built around that transmission and rear end is a Nurburgring tested all-independent performance suspension that's been upgraded with the Pedders Pace Car Package. Speed sensitive power steering and massive four-wheel disc brakes ensure this car handles the twisties with ease. At the corners, 20 inch American Racing wheels look awesome wrapped in Nitto rubber. Inside the car everything is factory new with no trace of wear on any of the seats or carpets. The heated and power adjustable Inferno Orange leather seats are near perfect in every way. When combined with the cars Inferno Orange door panel coves, dash accents and stitching, they really set off an otherwise simple and dark interior. Being a top of the line car, all the cool options such as the heads up display and Boston Acoustic 9-speaker sound system are in place and functioning perfectly. Included with the sale of this car is the original owner's manual, window sticker, build proposal and a few pictures from its time at the Source Interlink SEMA booth. Limited edition cars are cool but 1 of 1 builds like this 2011 Camaro RS/SS are as good as it gets. If you've been considering adding a fifth generation Camaro to your collection, don't miss your chance to take home the best. 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS Review, Walkaround, Exhaust, Test Drive
As if we got a hold of bumblebee himself, the current generation Camaro is quite a giant leap forward for the brand versus the previous generation. Offering better ride and handling over the Ford Mustang, we think the Camaro could be a winner if Chevy reduced the weight and addressed the visibility issues.
