Persisting with a factory Skyline 5-speed manual gearbox for a number of years, Nigel's stick shift Holden Commodore VL has run as quick as 9.12 and trapped 167mph over the quarter mile. A recent upgrade in the way of a PPG gearset, Nigel was hoping to dip into the 8-second zone. John's Holden Commodore VL turbo back at the track after two years. John has mini-tubbed the rear end to fit a bigger tyre. Due to safety requirements, John couldn't complete anymore passes. The car will be tech inspected and return to the track soon. Power comes from a highly modified Nissan RB30 3L six cylinder engine. We've seen Cameron's 8-second Holden Calais street car at the track many times but this was the first time the VL has been entered into a Dyno competition and the car didn't disappoint. The Calais is powered by a Nissan twin cam RB25/30 single turbo combination by D'Annello Performance that has run a best time of 8.47 @ 168mph on radial tyres and E85 fuel.
