2008 Honda Accord Coupe vs. 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe
Then Honda crashed Nissan's party with the 2008 Honda Accord Sedan and
Coupe. The 2008 Honda Accord Coupe brought us an epiphany. As we said
sarcastically when we first drove it, "An Accord coupe can do your income
taxes. If you need a root canal, Accord coupe is your car...but humpin' and
pumpin' is not an Accord coupe's strong suit." And yet we realized that
this isn't the Accord coupe we remember — it's fun. The Accord coupe
proves that Honda knows how to put some life into a car built from a sedate
2009 Toyota Venza V6
FOR MORE ABOUT THE VENZA:
As soon as you see the 2009 Toyota Venza V6, you know what it is. So how
come there are all these questions about whether it's a crossover, a
minivan in disguise, a tall wagon or a soft-riding SUV? Really, get over
it. Toyota brought it to us, not aliens from another planet.
Mark Cooledge knows what it is. The 34-year-old insurance network manager
from Texas is finding life a little tight in his Toyota Camry with his wife
and two small children. He isn't convinced his family needs a minivan, but
he wants more space, more practicality. And maybe the Venza is it.
Cooledge is just the buyer Toyota was counting on when it designed the 2009
Toyota Venza, so we let him take the wheel with us so we could get past the
labels and figure out what it does best.
The Big, The Not Bad, & the Ugly: 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour Full Test Video
2010 Honda Accord Crosstour Full Test and Video
Yet, there's something odd about the 2010 Accord Crosstour that can't be
entirely written off to its exterior styling and the ensuing fuss on
Facebook. The Crosstour is supposed to offer an ideal compromise of sedan
and SUV attributes, but the utility doesn't quite add up.
Volkswagen Tiguan v Honda CR-V v Toyota RAV4
CHECK OUT THE CUTE-UTE SMACKDOWN:
We get it already — fuel prices suck. And while we pity the poor sod who
bought a new full-size SUV a few years ago and is now stuck with a fuel
bill that has doubled and a vehicle whose residual value makes manure
futures look appealing, everyone wants solutions. Sympathy won't heal a
So what's a utility-lovin' small family to do? Downsize. Full-size SUVs
provide unmatched capability but their thirst may make you reassess your
needs. Think compact utility vehicle. Think crossover.
This doesn't mean you have to downsize your expectations, though. The three
compact SUVs we've assembled here — the brand-new 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan
and the 2008 Honda CR-V and 2008 Toyota RAV4 — are based on car
platforms, a strategy that helps create an efficient utilization of
interior space in a relatively lightweight, fuel-efficient package. Simply
put, you can pack more stuff inside these compact SUVs than you might
And being car-based, these compact crossovers offer easier entry and exit
and better driving maneuverability than truck-based ones, something you
really appreciate when you're running errands around town. Of course,
car-based SUVs lack the rough-road capability of their bigger brethren, and
you can forget about serious towing. For everyday use, though, a compact
ute just makes more sense.
We tested a 2008 Honda CR-V AWD EX-L with navigation, a 2008 Toyota RAV4
4x4 Limited and a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL 4Motion. Each one represents a
different take on the cute-ute concept and carry distinct strengths and
weaknesses but the three turned out to be surprisingly well-matched.
Indeed, when the dust settled, we had a tie for 2nd place, and just 4.2
points separate them from the winner.
These are no penalty boxes either, as all three tested — the top trim
level available — are equipped with all-wheel drive, stability control,
leather and heated seats. Two of them have navigation systems with back-up
cameras and satellite radio.

( http://www.TFLcar.com ) Wikipedia says, "a crossover is a vehicle built
on a car platform and combining, in highly variable degrees, features of a
sport utility vehicle (SUV) with features from a passenger vehicle,

that the crossover is the new family truckster. Here are the Top 5 off-road

The Toyota Venza was introduced in the 2009 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During
rebound, the dummy's head hit the roof rail.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the neck, chest, and both legs
indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this
severity. A high head acceleration occurred when the dummy's head hit the
steering wheel through the airbag, indicating that head injuries would be
possible. Head acceleration from the roof rail hit was low.
2014 Honda Crosstour 3.5L V-6 Test Drive & CUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/honda/crosstour/?id=32972 The Honda Crosstour made
its debut as a 2012 model and is essentially the hatchback wagon version of
a Honda Accord. Now we get a revised version that includes a facelift on
the outside, updates to the interior, upgraded technology, and a new Earth
Dreams engine that is more fuel efficient and more powerful. The 2014 Honda
Crosstour has a base price of $27,230.
With over 20 models sold by Honda here in the U.S.; it's hard to understand
why this vehicle exists But as sales have shown, there is a niche for this
vehicle in the CUV segment. The Honda Crosstour is a great choices for a
number of different car buyers including: families, couples with young
children, and even retired people where an Accord or Camry isn't quite
enough as they need that extra space out back but do not necessarily want
to invest in an SUV or large CUV. Hence the Crosstour is the perfect
For the first few years of its existence, the Crosstour did not compete
very well with other vehicles in this segment like the Toyota Venza or the
Subaru Outback. But Honda has given this car a new lease on life with
beefier looks, luxurious interior, and upgraded powerplant. The result is
improved sales and a car that meets the needs of more people, perfectly.
Under the hood lives an Earth Dreams V-6 engine that includes Variable
Valve Timing and Variable Cylinder Management. The 3.5 liter V-6 engine
makes 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of
torque. Power is put down through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel
economy is 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. There is also a
less powerful 4-cylinder that averages a little bit better fuel economy.
On the inside, the Crosstour has a very nice design. There are 2 screen
located in the center console, one controls the navigation and while the
other is for the radio. The 2014 Honda Crosstour is a good buy if need
extra cargo space along with the reliability of a Honda.
