Crossover-ish: 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour vs. 2009 Toyota Venza

Kei-Car Attacks USA! 2010 Mitsubishi i Road Test Video
2010 Mitsubishi i Full Test and Video: http://www.insideline.com/mitsubishi/i/2010/2010-mitsubishi-i-full-test-and -video.html More Articles: http://www.insideline.com Car Prices & Info: http://www.edmunds.com Twitter Feed: http://twitter.com Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/ins... Hi-Res Videos: http://www.hulu.com/edmunds-in side-line Think Mitsubishi, turbocharged and all-wheel drive. Now think midengine, five doors and three cylinders. Baffled? So were we until this eggplant-purple 2010 Mitsubishi i pulled into our office for a full shakedown several weeks back. Now we're just, well, curious. There are several reasons for this. First, the Mitsubishi i is a machine meant for the famous Kei-car segment in the Japanese domestic market. Like the microcars of France, the keijidosha vehicles must meet strict limits on size, engine displacement and power, which entitle them to tax breaks. It is a class of urban commuters — cars designed to travel at low speed in congested areas and then be parked easily.

The Big, The Not Bad, & the Ugly: 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour Full Test Video
2010 Honda Accord Crosstour Full Test and Video http://www.insideline.com/honda/accord-crosstour/2010/2010-honda-accord-cro sstour-full-test-and-video.html Yet, there's something odd about the 2010 Accord Crosstour that can't be entirely written off to its exterior styling and the ensuing fuss on Facebook. The Crosstour is supposed to offer an ideal compromise of sedan and SUV attributes, but the utility doesn't quite add up.

Volkswagen Tiguan v Honda CR-V v Toyota RAV4
CHECK OUT THE CUTE-UTE SMACKDOWN: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=131851?tid=e dmunds.il.home.photopanel..1.* We get it already — fuel prices suck. And while we pity the poor sod who bought a new full-size SUV a few years ago and is now stuck with a fuel bill that has doubled and a vehicle whose residual value makes manure futures look appealing, everyone wants solutions. Sympathy won't heal a hemorrhaging wallet. So what's a utility-lovin' small family to do? Downsize. Full-size SUVs provide unmatched capability but their thirst may make you reassess your needs. Think compact utility vehicle. Think crossover. This doesn't mean you have to downsize your expectations, though. The three compact SUVs we've assembled here — the brand-new 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan and the 2008 Honda CR-V and 2008 Toyota RAV4 — are based on car platforms, a strategy that helps create an efficient utilization of interior space in a relatively lightweight, fuel-efficient package. Simply put, you can pack more stuff inside these compact SUVs than you might think. And being car-based, these compact crossovers offer easier entry and exit and better driving maneuverability than truck-based ones, something you really appreciate when you're running errands around town. Of course, car-based SUVs lack the rough-road capability of their bigger brethren, and you can forget about serious towing. For everyday use, though, a compact ute just makes more sense. We tested a 2008 Honda CR-V AWD EX-L with navigation, a 2008 Toyota RAV4 4x4 Limited and a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL 4Motion. Each one represents a different take on the cute-ute concept and carry distinct strengths and weaknesses but the three turned out to be surprisingly well-matched. Indeed, when the dust settled, we had a tie for 2nd place, and just 4.2 points separate them from the winner. These are no penalty boxes either, as all three tested — the top trim level available — are equipped with all-wheel drive, stability control, leather and heated seats. Two of them have navigation systems with back-up cameras and satellite radio.

2009 Mazda 6 vs. 2008 Honda Accord vs. 2008 Nissan Altima
SEE THE FULL COMPARISON: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=131667?tid=e dmunds.il.home.photopanel..1.* Our recent test of the 2009 Mazda 6 s Grand Touring showed us that Mazda can still offer sporting dynamics in its all-new family sedan, even while providing more room, more features and more power. We were concerned that the sporting spirit of the last-generation, fun-but-snug Mazda 6 might have been lost in the search for commercial success, but we came away believing this new car still has that zoom-zoom thing. Like Mazda, we believe a family sedan can be lively as well as practical. So to gauge the way in which the 2009 Mazda 6 fits into the new world of family sedans, we figured a comparison is in order. A 2009 Mazda 6 s Grand Touring would be our starting point. Then we enlisted the 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE with its continuously variable automatic transmission. It's the car that most people consider to be the sportiest in this category, matched with a transmission that shatters all expectations about CVTs. (We know this car is available with a manual transmission, but we also know the CVT is a better choice. Trust us.) The all-new 2008 Honda Accord is the standard of the category, the winner of our last comparison test of family sedans. A 2008 Honda Accord EX-L Navi matched up nicely. Hailed for its value, refinement and excellent quality, the well-mannered Accord would challenge the Mazda's practical abilities. And so we began our family sedan comparison test, and we're wondering how far the Mazda 6's fun-o-meter has swung away from "I could use a Red Bull" toward "My adrenal gland is sore and I need to grow up."

2013 Toyota Venza Drive & Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2012 Venza is Toyota's interpretation of the modern station wagon. Once upon a time it used to be that family haulers came in very limited flavors but today family vehicle buyers can choose from mini van, SUV's Crossovers and even the Toyota Venza. Think of the Venza the offspring of a Crossover that fell in love and married a station wagon. The result is a roomy, sleek, buff and low family hauler with 20 inch wheels. The Venza's base 182-horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is just adequate to haul around the big-boned wagon. The bigger and more powerful 268-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 does a much better job when mated to the 6 speed automatic turning the Venza into a more exciting, if not quite fun, car to drive. The Venza offers solid plat form for a comfortable, well dampened and relaxed ride. However if you are looking for a thrilling drive to work when the kids are at school the Venza is not your cup of tea. Solid performance...yes. Carving the back roads...no.

2010-2012 Honda Accord Crosstour Review from Consumer Reports
Based on the Accord sedan, the Crosstour is pleasant to drive but difficult to classify. Its hatchback design improves cargo versatility, but the styling limits rear visibility.

2014 Honda Crosstour 3.5L V-6 Test Drive & CUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/honda/crosstour/?id=32972 The Honda Crosstour made its debut as a 2012 model and is essentially the hatchback wagon version of a Honda Accord. Now we get a revised version that includes a facelift on the outside, updates to the interior, upgraded technology, and a new Earth Dreams engine that is more fuel efficient and more powerful. The 2014 Honda Crosstour has a base price of $27,230. With over 20 models sold by Honda here in the U.S.; it's hard to understand why this vehicle exists But as sales have shown, there is a niche for this vehicle in the CUV segment. The Honda Crosstour is a great choices for a number of different car buyers including: families, couples with young children, and even retired people where an Accord or Camry isn't quite enough as they need that extra space out back but do not necessarily want to invest in an SUV or large CUV. Hence the Crosstour is the perfect vehicle. For the first few years of its existence, the Crosstour did not compete very well with other vehicles in this segment like the Toyota Venza or the Subaru Outback. But Honda has given this car a new lease on life with beefier looks, luxurious interior, and upgraded powerplant. The result is improved sales and a car that meets the needs of more people, perfectly. Under the hood lives an Earth Dreams V-6 engine that includes Variable Valve Timing and Variable Cylinder Management. The 3.5 liter V-6 engine makes 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque. Power is put down through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. There is also a less powerful 4-cylinder that averages a little bit better fuel economy. On the inside, the Crosstour has a very nice design. There are 2 screen located in the center console, one controls the navigation and while the other is for the radio. The 2014 Honda Crosstour is a good buy if need extra cargo space along with the reliability of a Honda.
